Lea Salonga says she did not "diss or attack" Anne Curtis; admits she's insulted by "off-key singers" calling themselves singers

Lea Salonga on Anne Curtis: "I'm not sure that she should make a career out of singing but I thinknaman she... In reality, she knows what she is. She knows who she is. And I think she just basically let out a wish and somebody made it come true. I thought it was really cute. I didn't get to see the concert. But everybody that I know that went there had a lot of fun."

Sorry."

Paliwanag niya sa kanyang naging tugon, "No offense to her. But you said, what singer?

"Anne admits... she is not a singer. I have to give her that. I congratulate her for the concert..."

Besides, lea is just like all the rest of us giving our own opinions..the only difference is she has an acclaimed name and we don't..or at least most of us here. ang dali natin syang husgahan samantalang tayong mga walang mukha, feeling natin kaya nating lahat magsulat ng walang sisita sa atin. cm'on people, give her that. i totally agree with lea though i've liked anne bec of her talent and masa appeal, except the singing part.

So agree ako kay lea. but it doesnt follow na against ako kay Anne.

You have to remember Anne brought all this attention, both negative and positive, upon herself. Alam naman niya she is no singer that's why she spoke openly about it. Kayo lang naman who defend her are making an issue out of it. Feeling inaapi na-naman ang mga pinoy. A very typical kawawa stance of Filipinos. Why don't you just look at it as an act of freewill on Anne's part to perform as a singer despite the fact that she has no talent at all in singing AND the freedom of speech of Ms. Leah to defend herself and speak her mind without bashing Anne or any other trying hard person out there? Simply accept the truth and balance of things and move on with your lives. There is no issue. You guys bring yourselves down instead of accepting the truth with dignity. Only then will you come out winners not losers.

i'm just wondering why all the while anne curtis was saying there's no repeat of her concert, they're now actually touring this concert abroad? sana tama na yung naipakita nya na natupad ang pangarap nya. although target market nya ay mga pinoy abroad, we can't deny the fact that some foreigners would be watching this concert and however u try to explain that she is not a singer, lalaiitin pa rin yan at kukwestyunin ang intelligence ng pinoy audience why we allow non-singers to hold concerts. sana isipin ng viva ang pinoy audience as a whole. enough na lang na sa araneta naganap yan.

street- what an airhead you are dude! you really want me to believe that telling the truth out of Lea is an INSECURITY? you have got to be kidding me! konting respeto sa TUNAY AT MAY KARAPATANG mag comment in regards to MUSIC industry. c'mon like what LordAms said, nasa publiko na 'yan to support, and only dyan sa pinas susuportahan ng todo todo kahit 'di marunong kumanta ang taong magko concert is bcos appealing and entertaining sa mga mata nila, but you cannot stop a TRUE singer for commenting her side in which she feels very insulting to her as a singer. you can't win them all dude! there is finally a TRUE singer who opt out of her shell to tell her side.

Lea Salonga is not questioning the SALES. Her query is about QUALITY. And I have to agree with Lea Salonga that the likes of off-key performers like KAPAMILYA star tv host ANNE CURTIS is putting the real singers in SHAME!

Well, ganyan talaga buhay. At ang maging critical without being hypocritical.

I get what Lea is trying to say, shes a professional singer and shes been singing since she was 4 years old. And she was asked, she didnt give an unsolicited comment. Lea Salonga is one of the reasons why ds country shud be proud. Some pipol do not appreciate her talent and even her acting skill becoz she does not belong in the masa market and shes not trying to sell herself as one. You may call her acting awful, but doesnt change the fact that she has a Tony award and a Sir Lawrence Olivier award both for singing and acting. Lea Salonga is the most internationally awarded singer in ds country, she knows what her craft is all about.
