Nagulat daw ang Concert King na si Martin Nievera nang bigyan siya ng gold record award para sa kanyang album na Himig Ng Damdamin noong nakaraang Linggo, February 26, sa ASAP.

"Yeah, I was surprised. I haven't gotten an award for a long time. Nice pala ano?" paunang pahayag ni Martin sa pagharap niya sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang media sa Cerchio restaurant sa Quezon City.

" I was shocked. Usually they always slip. It's always on the sequence guide [of ASAP]—'Martin awarding,' yung gano'n. 'Huh?'

"Pero this time, they got me. They surprised me."

Dahil sa success ng Himig ng Damdamin, may follow up na agad si Martin na Mga Awit ng Damdamin album.

Gaya ng nauna, covers din ito ng mga magagandang awitin mula 1970s hanggang kasalukuyan.

"I'm a big fan of the songs of before that's why I do so many of these compilations," sabi niya.

"When I became a singer, 'I wish I sang that song. Oh, God, I wish I did that song!'

"And now, I have the chance to do it because simply these things are so in.

"You know, even the big-named singers are doing these remakes."

ORIGINAL SONGS PLEASE! Hanggang kailan siya gagawa ng covers dahil marami naman siyang pinasikat na original songs?

Sagot ni Martin, "Until I come up with an album of really great originals.

"This is my break. This is my holiday. This is me... just vocalizing.

"I mean, I don't want to sound yabang but this is my way of... it's my vacation.

"It's my musical vacation... to go back in time and really bring back my favorite songs.
