Ai-Ai delas Alas stars in ABS-CBN'S new late-afternoon soap, Wako-Wako, to premiere on March 5, 2012.
The comedy queen, who plays the role of Dyosa Marishka, is cast with Maricar de Mesa, Gladys Reyes, Vandolph Quizon, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, Markki Stroem, and child actor Yogo Singh.
At the fantaserye's press conference held today, March 1, at the 55 Events Place, Scout Rallos, Quezon City, the actress appeared before the invited members of the press in a flowing peach and white gown—a costume she will get caught wearing in the soap.
During the press conference proper, the actress expressed her gladness for being granted another project right after her last primetime show, My Binondo Girl, concluded on January 20, 2012.
Ai-Ai said, "A, siyempre, masaya ako at binibigyan nila ako ng importansiya.
"Masaya rin ako dahil kasama ko ulit ang kakambal ko, si Direk Wenn."
Wako Wako, derived from "huwag kang matakot," is among the many projects that television show and film director Wenn Deramas and Ai-Ai teamed up in. These include the Ang Tanging Ina three-movie-parter, BFF: Best Friends Forever, Ang Cute ng Ina Mo, and Volta.
AI-AI'S NEW SQUEEZE. When the series of questions segued into the latest update on the award-winning comedy actress' lovelife, Ai-Ai initially uttered, "Naman."
In her interview last Sunday, February 26, on showbiz talk show The Buzz, the actress admitted that she is currently in a relationship with a 28-year-old car company executive.
Beaming, she addressed the inquiry, "Ayun lang naman kasi ang isasagot ko, di ba?
"Siyempre, bigyan naman natin yung tao ng privacy.
"Unti-untiin natin. 'Wag natin siyang biglain sa show business!"
At the question "Kailan ka pa natuto ng salitang private?" which was thrown in jest, Ai-Ai retorted: "Ngayon pa lang kasi nirerespeto niya ako at nirerespeto ko siya."
Does that imply that her past suitors and lovers treated her without respect?
Ai-Ai laughs off the question: "Oo, bastusan kami!"
