PEP Exclusive: Alden Richards talks about his first horror film The Road and other first-time experiences in showbiz

Together with other cast members, Alden Richards will attend the premiere of The Road on May 9 at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California. The actor, who plays a psycho-killer in the GMA Films movie, says this is his first time to go abroad: "It's my first time to go out of the country and hopefully, mag-stay kami do'n for a week, I guess, so talagang ifu-full pack ko na 'yon. Excited, I'm very excited, kasi ang dami kong na-experience na first time since I started showbiz. First time ko nakasakay sa airplane, first time kong nakakapunta sa iba't-ibang lugar here in the Philippines, and now, by first week of May, I'm going to the States."

"Holy Week? Balak sana naming ano, pumuntang ano, sa province, sa different churches sa Laguna for Stations of the Cross.

"With family and then 'yon lang spend time lang sa bahay together.

"Kasi minsan lang mangyari, after Holy Week wala na naman," nae-excite na sagot ni Alden.

SUMMER. Dahil nalalapit na rin ang summer, balak daw ng tween star na magpunta sa beach.

"Wala pa po... actually siguro, siguro sana makapag-beach ako.

"Kasi medyo gusto ko kasing magpa-tan kahit papaano, new look.

"And then sana with family, vacation sana.

"And, sana ano, sana magka-abs na ako," sabay halakhak ng young actor.

Ano ba ang dream summer destination ng isang Alden Richards?

"Wow! Sana Hawaii," mabilis na tugon ng aktor.

Paliwanag niya, "Wala lang, kasi kapag sinabi mong summer parang Hawaii is a perfect spot.

"Or kung hindi naman Hawaii, let's think locally, Palawan, El Nido—'yon ang sarap-sarap [dun]."

NEXT target ng abs. kaya dapat ang loyalty huwag bitawan kahit offeran kapa ng mas malaki ng ibang istasyon. Magaling ka kaya go lang ng go.

I must admit that this guy acts really well. It's in him. You can easily discern a great one from a mediocre actor - the former as somebody who doesn't have to scream or cry bucket of tears just to show his/her acting skills; rather, just through body movement, eye contact or tone of voice, the emotion is conveyed well and the audience deeply moved. Alden, if you're able to read this, then congratulations. Likewise, you've earned another male fan. Nowadays, it's rare to find natural-born actors in the Phils. And it's good to see you as belonging to those few. Just keep your feet grounded at all times. Flattery can easily get to the head and bring out the dark side in anybody.
