Noong nakaraang linggo ay nagwagi rin si Aga bilang Best Actor sa Star Awards for Movies.

Naka-tie ni Aga sa Star Awards si Governor ER Ejericto (Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story) na hindi naman nominado sa Golden Screen Awards.

Samantala, nakuha rin ng StarStruck alumnus na si Rocco Nacino ang kanyang ikalawang tropeyo para sa debut film niyang Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.

Si Rocco ang nagwagi sa kategoryang Breakthrough Performance by An Actor, na kapareho ng napanalunan niyang award mula sa Star Awards for Movies noong nakaraang linggo.

Ang child actress na si Angeli Sanoy naman ang nanalong Breakthrough Performance by An Actress para sa pagganap niya sa Patikul, na naging entry rin sa Cinemalaya (Directors' Showcase) noong isang taon.

Ang Superstar na si Nora Aunor ang ginawaran ng Lino Brocka Achievement Award.

 

CONTROVERSIAL SPEECH AND SPIELS. Sa opening remarks ni EnPress president Jun Nardo, muli niyang sinabi na "maaaring may hindi sumasang-ayon sa amin but we stand by our decision."

Patungkol ito sa naging isyu sa hindi pagkakasama ni Governor ER Ejercito sa listahan ng nominado para sa Best Actor award.

Matatandaang umalma ang kampo ng actor-politician nang hindi ito makasama sa mga nominado, at kinuwestiyon nila ang pagkaka-nominate ng Metro Manila Film Festival 2011 Best Actor na si Dingdong Dantes para sa Segunda Mano.

Dumalo si Dingdong sa Golden Screen Awards at nag-present ng Best Picture awards.

Sa opening spiels naman ng host na si John "Sweet" Lapus, tila nagpasaring rin ang komedyante na ang Golden Screen Awards lang ang award-giving body na "may integridad" at "nakakaloka dahil nagbabalik ng tseke!"

Ang tinutukoy ni Sweet ay ang pagsosoli ng EnPress ng P100,000 donation/sponsorship ni Governor ER para sa Golden Screen Awards TV noong isang taon.

Nanalo ng dalawang technical awards ang Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story—Best Cinematography at Best Production Design—ngunit walang dumalo mula sa produksiyon upang tanggapin ang kanilang mga tropeyo.

Ang Protégé runner-up na si Lovely Embuscado ang nagbukas ng Golden Screen Awards sa pamamagitan ng pag-awit niya ng Whitney Houston classic na "I Will Always Love You."
