Justine Ferrer's greatest achievement, perhaps, is having passed the rigid qualification requirements of Survivor Philippines and on to becoming one of its long-surviving castaways. Though admitting belatedly that she is a transgender, Justine does not consider her sex change an issue but rather to "prove a point."

Kahit na hindi pa kami kasal, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worst, nagmamahalan kami.”

“Anyway, ang stand ko [about] transgenders being allowed to join the Miss Universe is, NO!” diin ni Justine.

“Personal opinion ko lang naman ito.

“It’s been the tradition ever since of this prestigious pageant that only naturally-born women can join.

“So let us just respect that and have our own beauty pageant as big as this one.

“But if it will be possible, why not?

“Every transgender dreams of becoming a real beauty queen, so if time will permit us then might as well grab the opportunity.

“Gaya nga nang sinabi ni Ruffa Gutierrez, if they will allow transgenders to join, who is she to denounce it?” sabi ni Justine.
