Naka-five shooting days na pala si Derek Ramsay sa pelikula ng Star Cinema na pagtatambalan sana nila ni Bea Alonzo at ididirek ni Olivia Lamasan.

Pero pinalitan na nga siya sa naturang proyekto ng film arm ng ABS-CBN nang pumirma si Derek ng three-year exclusive contract sa TV5.

Sa panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Derek sa telepono noong Linggo, April 22, kinumpirma niya sa amin na hindi na siya ang leading man ni Bea sa pelikula ng Star Cinema.

Aniya, “Hindi siya na-shelved, I think papalitan ako.

“It was Star Cinema’s management that decided it.

“I think it was announced in the press na hindi na tuloy sa akin yung project so I understand… I’m not bitter or mad.”

Bagamat nanghihinayang siya na naalis siya sa nasabing pelikula, nagpapasalamat pa rin si Derek na kahit sa maikling panahon ay naging parte siya nito.

“Siyempre I was disappointed, I was really into my character already and I really like the story of the movie.

“But you know, they are professional in this business, they know what’s best.

“Naka-five days [shooting ako], pero ang dami kong natutunan.

“I worked with the probably number one director in the Philippines—Direk Olive Lamasan.

“I’ve learned a lot from her, she taught me a lot of things, she spoke to me.

“I really think of the positive on it. I don’t want to focus on the negative.

“Ang dami kong natutunan, I got the chance to work with her [Direk Olive] and maybe in the future makatrabaho ko siya.
