Manny Pacquiao's interview with American TV host Mario Lopez pushed through after the ban on the Pinoy boxing champ was lifted by The Grove, a popular shopping mall in Los Angeles.

Nakasaad sa tweet ang sumusunod: “Boxer Manny Pacquiao is not welcome @TheGroveLA. @TheGroveLA is a gathering place for all Angelenos, not a place for intolerance."

“Pacquiao was scheduled to do an interview on Extra on Wednesday, which is shot at the outdoor mall in the Fairfax district next to Farmers Market.

“The source said Grove officials feared that allowing Pacquiao’s interview to go forward ultimately could prove disruptive to the Grove and its patrons. The same source stressed that Pacquiao was free to express his views and that the decision to have him interviewed elsewhere “was in everybody’s best interest.”

“I want to clarify that I didn’t say I wanted all gays put to death. The reporter asked me a question. He said, ‘Obama is in favor of legalizing gay marriage and what’s your opinion?’

“He asked me about my opinion and I told him my opinion that I don’t agree, and I’m against same-sex marriage, but I didn’t say that I’m condemning the gays because, you know, I have relatives. I have gay relatives and friends. That’s all I said to the reporter.”

What would the fighter like to say to the gay community now?

Do whatever makes u happy, even if the half of the world is against it, whats important is you know in ur heart of hearts na sa huli walang nasaktan at tinapakan para maging maligaya lng.

No offense sa mga gays at lesbo jan ha, pero nagiging OA na kse ang reaction everytime may nagsasabi na di cla agree sa same sex marriage, eh ano ba kung di agree ang ibang tao sa gus2 nyo, u have to admit na di nman madali un gus2 nyong mangyari. And do not lecture me that its an issue of acceptance kse lahat ng tao gus2 ma-accept.

Granting that Manny is against same sex marriage at cnabi nya un in public, I dont see anything wrong wd that, lahat nman ng tao pede magsabi ng personal opinion nila, its just a matter of respecting someone else's point of view.

salute to you Manny! seldom a politician like you will comment like that. Mostly will always do the -no comment- mode just to excuse one self from criticism... Kudos to you Sir!

Yes, freedom of speech comes with an equal freedom of reaction. However, do you think that if a gay person says anti-hetero remarks, he will be banned from that mall? Will he get the same criticism? NO! For short, there's DOUBLE-STANDARD. Freedom of speech is exercised and even exploited for LIBERAL interests only, all other interests have cannot exercise the same rights without having to go through numerous hoops.

akinse, nag-apologize si Manny not beause he said ""gays should be put to death".,, " He denied saying this. When he apologized, it meant "apologize if he offended anybody" Why do people always interpret just the "word", never the context. I think this is a case where pinoy reporters put words in Manny's mouth.

Very-well said, Manny! You're against it but not condemning them. That's how it should always be, CONDEMNING THE SIN AND NOT THE SINNER. That's what the Lord God did for us. He died to put an end to the curse of sin out of His ultimate and unconditional love for us.
