Lunes nang kinumpirma ni Derek Ramsay na break na sila ng girlfriend niya of six years na si Angelica Panganiban. Mariin din niyang nilinaw na walang third party involved sa kanilang hiwalayan.

Kahapon, sa Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed ng TV5, isang mahabang panayam ang pinaunlakan ni Derek upang malinawan ang lahat ng mga bagay tungkol sa kanilang breakup ni Angelica.

Kuwento pa niya, “We’re just giving each other space, we want to analyze our feelings, our relationship, and there’s a perfect time and place to talk about things.

“So siguro kapag ready na kami mag-usap, dun na kami mag-uusap. Nilabas ko lang yun [out of] respect and to defend Angel and our relationship.

“It’s just, you know, I think it’s normal for a relationship to go [through] trials and we're going through a big one and we're gonna take our time to figure out kung anong gagawin namin," ang sabi ni Derek.

ON JOHN LLOYD CRUZ. Idiniin pa rin ng Kapatid Star na walang kinalaman si John Lloyd Cruz sa kanilang hiwalayan.

Depensa niya, “There’s no truth to that. Hindi ganun si Angel.  They just shot a movie in Vietnam, and I think nagkataon, nagka-timing that John Lloyd and Shaina [Magdayao] were having a problem as well and I think that’s where all this [tsismis], you know.”

ON SAM PINTO. Iniuugnay din sa kanya ang pangalan ni Sam Pinto, pero ayon pa sa actor-TV host, wala itong katotohanan.

Aniya, “I only worked with Sam Pinto two years ago for a commercial.

“You know what, kawawa rin naman si Sam Pinto. It’s not fair also, parang binabastos natin yung babae na walang ginagawa, sinasama niyo pa sa isang bagay na hindi naman siya kasali.

"So  Sam, I’m sorry if your name got brought up; I apologize.”

FOR PUBLICITY? Maraming naghihinala na baka gimik lang daw ito, dahil nagkataong may pelikula si Angelica na ipinapalabas sa mga sinehan.

Mahigpit namang ipinaglaban ni Derek si Angel sa gimik issue.

Paliwanag pa ng soon to be Amazing Race Philippines host, “Nakaka-insulto naman kay Angel. Let’s be fair to Angel and Piolo [Pascual] and Star Cinema.

"Hindi naman siguro sila gagawa ng gimik na ganyan para lang kumita ang isang pelikula.

“Kikita ang pelikula na yan dahil mahusay na artista si Angel, si Piolo, at maganda yung istorya.

“And I believe susuportahan yan ng mga tao, hindi dahil sa gimik na ganito... People say that I should protect Angel by keeping silent; I kept my silence.

“Angel’s kept her silence, pero I wouldn’t say anything if Angel didn’t know about it and it’s not fair for her, na people are judging her that way, and it’s not fair for me, [that] people are judging me this way.

“I wish people will just accept it and let us handle things on our own,” aniya.

SIX YEARS. Marami rin ang nanghihinayang sa relasyon nina Derek at Angel. Noon, tinatawag silang ideal couple dahil sa tatag ng kanilang relasyon na umabot ng anim na taon.

Ang tugon dito ni Derek, “Hindi sayang, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

“We did so many things together, we travelled the world together.

“She showed me so many things that I’ve never experienced and I did the same for her, so hindi sayang.

“Ang dami ngang nagsasabi 'bakit?' Hindi sayang, there were more good times than bad,  but that's is life, and sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you want [it] to work out, you have to deal with it.”

Sa huli, nagpaabot ng mensahe si Derek kay Angel, “Gel, I wanna wish you luck on your movie, ang tagal mo nang ginagawa yan and I know you're very, very excited. 

"Don’t worry manunood ako, magbabayad ako para manood.

“Kahit wala ako diyan sa premiere, I wish you all the best and I hope we can sit down together soon and iron things out and sort things out... Wish you all the best, take care!”
