Lady Gaga's arrival in Manila last Friday was met by adoring fans and enraged protesters alike. Even celebrities have different takes on whether the concert should push through. Some suggested changing the lyrics of her songs while others believe we should simply respect every one's opinion.

Lady Gaga’s arrival in Manila was met with protests by religious groups claiming that the American pop superstar is corrupting the moral values of the public.

She arrived last Friday, May 18, and will be the first to perform at the newly-constructed Mall of Asia Arena tonight, May 21, and tomorrow, May 22, as part of her Born This Way Ball tour.

OPPOSITION. Just last week, Lady Gaga’s sold-out concert in Indonesia set for June 3 was cancelled as authorities gave in to pressure by Islamic hardliners— who, according Fox News, are criticizing the artist for the "suggestive nature of her shows."

Meanwhile, her concert in South Korea last April 27 at the Seoul’s Olympic Stadium was restricted for 18 years old and above.

In Manila, Filipino Christian groups rallied in front of Pasay City Hall last Friday, May 18, bearing anti-Lady Gaga shirts and chanting, “Stop Lady Gaga Concert.”

According to Representative Benny Abante, who leads one of the Christian groups involved in the protest, they sent a letter to Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto seeking for the cancellation of the concert’s permit.

They believe that Lady Gaga’s songs are blasphemous to the Christian faith, citing the song “Judas” as a mockery to Jesus Christ.

He stated, “We will pray against it and do everything we can to oppose it on all fronts.”

This was also backed up by former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza and election lawyer Atty. Romulo Macalintal who both signed the letter of concern addressed to the Pasay city mayor.

They warned the organizers that a penalty of six months to six years may be served if the show is proven to be offensive to any race or religion, according to Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code.

In response, Mayor Calixto ordered the organizers to ensure that no nudity or lewd acts will be exhibited during the concert.

He also formed an eight-man inspection team to observe the show and report any offense .

Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes, a member of the Permanent Council of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines, urged the members of the Catholic Church to boycott the concert.

“Christians must exercise self-censorship to avoid shows that are harmful to their faith,” he said.

LITTLE MONSTERS. Despite protests, Lady Gaga’s fans called “little monsters” welcomed their “mother monster” last Friday with much adulation.

nagra rally yung ibang sect dyan na naniniwala daw sila sa god. god made of stone or wood. mas malala pa kayo kay lady g. kung wala kayong wisdom shut up and do something useful and fruitful. hindi yung mag rally kayo dyan na mukha talaga kayong taga third world country. iangat naman natin yung sarili natin as a Filipino.

Why there is a rally? because this world is already so twisted, the morality is already at total mess and we want to protect our youth by shaping, training their minds imagining whatever is, good, beautiful, pure, holy, pleasing and acceptable.

Interesting how people finds Toni's point of view to be shallow! Folks I find her mind to be brilliant. It is true music is very powerful to influence your thought, you become by what you listen. Haven't you notice it? try listen to sad songs and you become sad..some listen to dirty songs and do wild humping, go for something up beat and you rock en roll.

I like watching The Buzz. Every one of the hosts have different opinions. It would be boring if they all agreed on the same thing. If fans of L.G promote freedom of expression, then they should respect other opinions that are different from theirs, as well. Calling people like Toni names, defeats the purpose of what you're arguing for.

A lot of lives were sacrificed to have the freedom that we have right now, let's not go back to those days when we cannot say how we feel and express our opinion. Toni is entitled to her own opinion no matter how asinine she may look and sound.

it's obvious na mas mature ang opinions ni boy at charlene compared to toni... but what's admirable is at lerast toni had an opinion of her own... hindi yung nakikisabaay nalang sa iba... hindi playing safe... that's the purpose of discussion diba? kailangan may mahain kang opinyon...

part of previous comment should be: switching to toni mode frankly, i am mightily offended by toni's narrowness of mind, i don't want anyone to be exposed to and influenced by her ulcerated thoughts, so i want her jettisoned from "the buzz!" out! begone! scram!

if you are offended, stay away. it's that simple. ladygaga forces no one to buy a ticket or song. why do people like toni think they are imbued with such superiority that they can pontificate about what is ok or not for the rest of us? switching to toni mode frankly, i am mightily offended by toni's narrowness of mind, i don't want anyone to be exposed to and influenced by her ulcerated thoughts, so i want her jettisoned from "the buzz!" out! begone! scram!

Parents should look more about their children. Youth of these days became more obsess and posessive when it comes to celebrities. People will choose what they like. Nasa tao na rin yan kung maapektohan o mapapaapekto siya. I listen to her, I don't like or sometimes dislike her music and mostly I ignore her. Her provoking christians and muslims? It's sad but this kind of style have been in showbiz before she made her name.

di naman isinasabuhay ang mga kanta ng kahit sinong singer.... sarili mo pa rin ang masusunod kung anong landas ang tatahakin mo. gabay lang ng magulang palagi para mas responsable kang tao paglaki.
