Win or lose, celebrities show support for Jessica Sanchez on Twitter

Two of the country's finest singers Ogie Alcasid (left) and Zsa Zsa Padilla are very proud of Jessica Sanchez, the only Asian so far who almost won the AmericanIdol title.

Ngayong araw, May 24, naganap ang finale ng American Idol Season 11, kung saan kasama sa Top 2 ang may dugong Pilipino na si Jessica Sanchez.

At kahit na ang kanyang katunggali na si Phillip Phillips ang nanalo, proud pa rin ang mga Pinoy dahil sa impressive performance ng 16-year-old singer.

Kabilang na rito ang maraming local celebrities na nagpaabot ng kanilang suporta kay Jessica sa pamamagitan ng Twitter.

Isa na rito ang Kapamilya actress na si Iza Calzado.

"Dear @JSanchezAI11 you are an amazingly talented artist. It's just a title. You can be so much more than that. Make it happen! Mabuhay Ka!," pahayag ni @MissIzaCalzado.

Pinuri din ng Journey frontman na si Arnel Pineda si Jessica.

"@JSanchezAI11 You did a great job and will always be a winner in our hearts," said @arnelpineda.

Ipinagmamalaki naman ng Kapuso singer-actor at chairman ng OPM na si Ogie Alcasid ang dalaga.

"Jessica! We are proud of you!" saad ni @ogiealcasid.

Samantala, kahit proud ang Kapamilya singer na si Zsa Zsa Padilla para kay Jessica ay in-acknowledge din niya ang pagkapanalo ni Phillip.

"Congratulations, Phillip Phillips. Great job, Jessica!!! Extremely proud of you!!!" sabi ni @zsazsapadilla.

Para naman sa award-winning composer and musical director na si Ryan Cayabyab, si Jessica ang "champion."

"PHILlIP PHILLIPS. American Idol. But Jessica will remain the champion in my heart. Congratulations to you both. It was a good season," saad ni @ryancayabyab.

Ipinaabot naman ng TV host na si Bianca Gonzalez ang pagmamahal niya para kay Jessica.

"i guess america isn't ready yet for an asian-latina american idol winner.. but the world is!!!! we love you @JSanchezAI11! :) #idolfinale," saad ni Bianca (@iamsuperbianca).

Kaya next year wag na kayong mag-aksaya ng panahon at boto ninyo. Quoted from The Hollywood Reporter in Los Angeles. "Many of her fans are in the Phillipines and cannot vote for her, unless they have access to a Magic Jack. International support is wonderful, and can mean a fortune in record sales. However, overseas votes are INELIGIBLE on the Idol voting lines." Siguro naman maliwanag yan na only US votes are counted. Besides, like I always say, Americans are not yet ready to accept an ASIAN American Idol, no matter how good he/she is, or even if he/she was born in the USA, or even if he/she is half Asian only. The same way as they are not ready for a GAY American Idol.

if jessica is really talented and supported by all her fans, then losing will not hinder her from becoming successful. by the same token, winning is far from a guarantee of success. it all comes down to album sales, not the race card, so let the real-world competition begin.

told you phillip will win! sabi nga ni adam lambert bago mag-finals nung tinanong niya sino ang mananalo, "who do you think ALWAYS wins?". yun na! deserving si jessica but hey, magaling rin naman si phillip kaya ok na rin.

Ang kikitid ng mga utak ng karamihan dito. Dont pull out the race card just because she didn;t win. Maging masaya kayo na napasama siya sa top 2. That still has merit no!

Si Jessica ay amerikano sa isip sa salita at sa gawa. Ang kababayan natin ay ang nanay niya. Ang kababayan ni Jessica ay mga kapwa niyang amerikano.

Expected na yan during the performance night sa judge comments. Voters should go from the beginning of competition not only in one night performance. Still there is discrimination.. Sabi nga American Idol, dapat pure american ang mananalo at hindi American,Mexican at filipino citizen.. Oh diba eh di naubos ang load ninyo alam muna yun sa 2nd lang siya. Kaya next time wag na kayo paloloko sa american idol.

totally agree maria45. i guess instead of feeling bad about the result we should just be happy that Jessica got the chance and exposure she needs in order to pursue her career/love in music. for some PP's way is too boring and too slow but i think thats what made him win. he is just being himself and we already had too many belters in the industry, we have Charice to prove that Filipinos are very talented musician. besides not all first placers became successful some of the runner ups even made it to stardom leaving the first placers very far behind ;

Jessica is good but I guess Philip is better. American Idol comprises a lot of things, not just the best singer, but something more. That's why even if we voted 50x in Facebook or hundred times in texts, we just couldnt make her an idol, cuz a lot more Americans thinks otherwise. I dont watch Idol that much but I heard Jessica sing through youtube and she is really good., that's why for the FIRST time like anyone else I voted a lot of times. I have only seen Philip the other night and when I saw him I thought to myself, he will win. , he surely is going to win.., not because he is white or attractive but because he is good. and very confident. We kept on saying we're proud of Jessica because she is a Filipina in AI, but we forgot one thing, AI is a singing contest , doesnt matter what color you are. At the end of the day, the best man wins...and it was Philip not Jessica/. We'll just leave it like that.

natawa naman ako sa twit ni rovilson... si philip pang-ayala malls, while jessica pang MOA... hahaha!... the fact that jessica doesnt deny being filipina is enough reason to support her... i dont need to be a relative or friend to feel proud of what she has achieved...

Congratulations Jessica. OA ang mga Filipino sa paulit-ulit na Proud to be Pinoy kuno. Si Jessica ay proud American, yon ang totoo. Saka deserving naman si Philip dahil dahil hindi naman sya parang bato kapag kumakanta sa stage. Next year, makikiride-on na naman ulit ang mga local celebrities at buong Pinas sa FilAM contestant. Hindi nakatulong kay Jessica ang dayaan sa voting.

SERIOUSLY IS THERE ANYTHING PINOYS BE RIGHTFULLY PROUD OF? Sobrang kaPLASTIKAN naman yung mga sagot ng ibang mga Pinoy na sobrang proud sila kay Jessica Sanchez KAHIT HINDI naman sila magka mag anak o may relasyon man lang na ina acknowledged ni Jessica. I can understand her relatives being proud of her, pero yung IBA, hellur, parang LANGAW na nakatungtong sa kalabaw, kung kayang maunawaan ng iba dyan!

ALL TALK AND NOTHING MORE. Most of the stars of Kapamilya ABS CBN who expressed love for Jessica seem to have just good in whinging and nothing more. Ilan ba sa mga Kapamilya ABS CBN stars ang bumoto kay Jessica or nag SMS ng votes nila for JS? Puro DALDAL, kulang sa gawa!

still americans don't want to beat their race in all aspects and they still want to rule the world. Though nasundan ko lang ang jessica fever na ito ng AI season 7 dahil halos everyday sa tv patrol laging mi special segment for her. In behalf to all Filipinos let's be merry because she got this far and m sure more beautiful song we will hear soon as she will manage by great artists and producers in hollywood. it's not the title counts,it's how the artists sustain his/her longetivity in music. Congrats jessica! We are proud of you!
