Kagabi, May 27, ay ginanap ang coronation ng Miss Earth Philippines 2012 sa The Centerstage ng SM Mall of Asia.

Ang naturang pageant ay ginanap upang pumili ng representive ng Pilipinas sa Miss Earth na gaganapin sa Indonesia sa Oktubre.

Forty-seven candidates ang nag-represent ng iba’t ibang siyudad, municipalities, provinces, at maging Filipino communities abroad.

Itinanghal bilang Miss Earth Philippines ang Miss Quezon City na si Stephany Dianne Stefanowitz.

Ang iba pang mga nanalo ay sina: Miss San Juan City Samantha Purvor, Miss Philippines Earth-Water; Miss Tabuk City Glennifer Perido, Miss Philippines-Earth Air; Miss Puerto Princesa Thoreen Halvorsen, Miss Philippines-Earth Fire; at Miss Vigan Mary Candice Ramos, Miss Philippines Earth-Eco Tourism.

Si Stephany ang sumunod sa yapak ni Athena Imperial na nanalo noong 2011.

Ang half-German, half-Filipina candidate ay naging emosyunal  nang tawagin ang kanyang pangalan bilang Miss Earth Philippines 2012 winner.

Pasok sa Top 10 ang former Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemate na si Princess Manzon na siyang representative ng San Francisco-Cebu.

Ang ibang semi-finalists ay sina Miss Negros Oriental Glenna Christina Duch, Miss Fil-Belgium Roxanne Corluy, Miss Muntinlupa City Kathleen Subijano, at Miss Indang Cavite Jaydielou Dilidili.

Ang mga nanalo ng special awards ay ang sumusunod:

Best in Swimsuit - Samantha Purvor of San Juan City; Best in Cultural Attire - Zandra Flores of Manaoag; Miss Photogenic - Cristelt Gerona of Pagadian City; Best in Long Gown - Stephany Stefanowitz of Quezon City; Miss Congeniality - Jennifer Japor of Lucena City; at Miss Talent - Aufelyn Zabala of Marilao, Bulacan.

Ang nag-host ng pageant ay ang magkaibigang sina Marc Nelson at Rovilson Fernandez; kasama ang dating Miss Earth titleholder turned ABS-CBN showbiz anchor na si Ginger Conejero.

Ilan sa judges ay ang Fil-British actress Rachel Grant na lumabas sa James Bond movie na Die Another Day, ang ABS-CBN actress na si Empress Schuck, Councilor Shalani Soledad-Romulo, at Senator Koko Pimentel.

Special performers naman ang Boys Are Boys na binubuo nina Bryan Termulo, Markki Stroem, Alex Castro, at JM de Guzman.

Hinarana nila ang 47 candidates habang ginaganap ang evening gown competition.
