Lucy Torres-Gomez on Annabelle Rama's bid for Congress: “Who are we to say na dapat huwag tumakbo, dapat ito lang ang tatakbo? It’s a free country."

Lucy Torres-Gomez explains her side on why there should be electoral reforms: “I feel lang na it would be more efficient or effective ang dalawang term na tig-four years kaysa sa tatlong terms na tig-three years.”

“Yes, he’s preparing for that,” pagbabalita niya.

Paliwanag niya, “It’s just that now kasi, may mga munisipyo na kalaban talaga yung nakaupo yung mayor.

“Kahit maganda yung project, hinaharang nila para lang for the sake of the... maharang lang.

“Me, I’ll be more effective kung kakampi ko yung mga mayors ko.”

“Magla-lighten yung load niya talaga. I don’t know... we’ll see.”

ANNABELLE RAMA.

Lucy I heard that you have a good heart and a good head on your shoulder. You are playing it safe. There is nothing wrong about expressing your true opinion. It is not just a question of her qualifications but more an issue of CHARACTER AND MORALITY. Unlike you, maske wala kang political and government experience, mabait kang tao. Pero si Madam ANEVIL... you know the answer!

Oo nga, it's a free country and we tend to abuse naman kaya nga ganito ang Pinas diba? Walang gustong sumunod at ayaw ng disiplina. Anyway, no wonder ganyan ang attitude ng pinoy dahil na rin sa current leadership image ng highest officer of the land. Hay, good luck Pilipinas! Go for corruption and disrespect sa rules of law. Kaya ang Pinoy, kanya-kanya din, walang pagtutulungan mapasaang lugar man.

She has to say that kasi sya din really did not have any known qualifications when she ran before. Nakapangasawa lang sya ng artista, she gained some popularity kaya feeling nya and her camp ay qualified na sya.

Remember ang rumor about her years ago? Kung may usok may sunog somewhere. Nagtatanong lang.

tama naman si lucy! It’s not a safe answer, but an appropriate one. Sino nga ba siya para i-judge si AR? who is she to say that annable rama should or should not run for government position. It is AR’ right as a citizen of the country. Anyone can file his/her candidacy to run for public office and it is up to the voting citizenry to use their own judgment if a candidate is fit or not. So what’s the big deal?

This is very disappointing, coming from someone who supposedly has a good head on her shoulders. Lucy, you are playing it safe with that answer. True, this is a free county, but always remember that freedom comes with responsibility. That responsibility includes being accountable to citizens who make up the electorate that a public official is to represent. That means if Rama is to run for a seat in congress she knows what it means to be a lawmaker and a representative of her constituents. Judging from her very public life, Rama knows nothing about the legislative process and to run for office without knowledge is irresponsible and downright disrespectful of the office of representative, and ultimately, the people.

yeah, who are we? we are just the electorate and taxpayers who pays for your salary. i am really disappointed with your answer, playing it safe for A. Rama. Also, what calling are you talking about? Calling ni AR, that is so ridiculous. Di porke na-elect yung mga artistang walang tinapos, pwede na rin si AR, kakatuwa naman, only in the Philippines.

“Who are we to say na dapat huwag tumakbo, dapat ito lang ang tatakbo? It’s a free country... Mrs. Torres-Gomez, we the taxpayers and the citizens of the Philippines have every right to question the integrity, intelligence and capability of our elected leaders. As citizens of this country, we expect our elected leaders to pass bills and enact laws that will benefit ALL Filipinos in the country. So for you to even ask "who we are to question or say who should run" tells me that you do not fully think the Filipino voters as intelligent.
