MVP says GMA-7 and TV5 merger may be finalized “within the year”

by Nerisa Almo posted on June 14, 2012  STATS: 29337 Views | 235 Comments

“There’s desire on both parties to come to terms,” says TV5 chairman Manny about the reported GMA-7-TV5 buyout during PLDT stockholders’ meeting earlier today, June 14.

Ayon naman sa ulat ng TV5 News, positibo ring inihayag ni MVP na, “There’s desire on both parties to come to terms.”

“We are in discussions with GMA-7… Nothing has been finalized... Discussions are moving positively… To come to terms, many issues to be discussed.”

TRUE OR NOT?

Aniya, “No mention of merger investment, combination. Certainly no mention of November deadline at all. Sure some people speculated and all I said was I can now say we, are under discussion but nothing finalized at this time.”

Sa hiwalay naman na interbyu kay Atty. Felipe Gozon, chairman at CEO ng GMA-7, sinabi niya, “Well, as I said, we are not selling. No, it’s true. I’ve been very consistent that we are not selling.

“However, sinabi ko naman being a realistic practical person that if we are offered a price that we think is right and we cannot refuse, e, sino ba naman ang hindi magbebenta kung kursunada mo yung price?”

Basta I'm so happy na mag memerge ang dalawang station! This is just so exciting. I wonder what will ABS do, dahil hindi talaga maitatanggi na threat ito sa kanila.

So ang ABS-CBN na lang ang Filipino-Owned Media Company among the three.

Ang malinaw pa sa sikat ng arw, WALANG MAY INTERES NA MAKISOSYO SA GAYBSCBN. Sana naman nagbabasa ang mga Class A abnoi na kaPOORmilya fans about what Reuters told about GAYbscbn bilang not friendly company for investors! Tsk tsk tsk.. Merging makes us kapuso happy!

Sabi ni Gabby Lopez --- ABS-CBN will not be sold during my lifetime. We have received offers from a number of parties before but we are not interested to sell... Sabi naman ni Felipe Gozon --- Kung P500 billion, ibebenta ko right now. Kung may mag-o-offer ng P500 billion, kahit tulog ako, gisingin n'yo ako, I will sell. Pag below that, medyo iisipin ko muna... Sabi naman ni Pangilinan said the deal price being discussed is below P100 billion.

Kung walang magpapaloko, e di walang manloloko. Kung walang magpapabenta, ay walang mangungulit mamili... ABS-CBN IS NOT FOR SALE 100 percent while GMA IS CONDITIONALLY FOR SALE AT THE RIGHT PRICE, which is sad to say, below P100 Billion as per MVP, hihihihi...

VOVO mag research ka nga...........sino ang nagsasabing ibebenta niya ang GMA7 ng 500 BILLION PESOS ngayon tapos 100 BILLION PESOS...........ngayon naman wala pa raw sa 100 BILLION PESOS ang halaga...........................FROM 500 BILLION PESOS TO LESS THEN 100 BILLION PESOS??????????????ano ibig sabihin nito LUGING LUGI NA ANG GMA7 hahahaahahahaaha

ganyan talaga ang GAYbscbn fans, ang headline eh MVP wants to buy, pagdating sa GAYbscbn fans, FOR SALE na agad ang Kapuso! hahahah! Excuz me, kung mga edukado kayong tao, in the first place, GMA7 IS NOT FOR SALE. It was MVP who keeps on courting GMA7 dahil MALAKI ANG INTERES ni MVP na bilhin ito. Natutuwa kaming mga Kapuso dahil TV5 and GMA7 has a very good relationship! WALANG MAGKAKAINTERES MAGTANONG JN! hahahah!

FYI, kung strictly NOT FOR SALE ang GMA, e di sana nananahimik na si MVP ngayon gaya ng ginawang pagbara sa kanya ni Gabby Lopez na ABS-CBN IS NOT FOR SALE, that's why nobody is making a dare. Kaso excited sila Guzing na makahawak ng instant cash na katumbas ng kikitain ng GMA for 5 years. So after 5 years, ano na... NGANGA, laglag na sa Forbes List sina Guzing at Duabit. bwahahaha

I also bet, when TV5 and GMA7 merge, GAYbscbn will definitely be in oblivion. Hindi na kailangan pang maglecture d2 kasi namn obvious na obvious na malaki ang knita ng Kapuso last 2011 compared sa nagfifeeling na GAYbscbn aka Class A abnoi fans. GMAy never faltered since it gained ratings nung 2003.

MVP uses Gozon to beat his strong competitor Lopezes by buying his company. Or he likes to climp on top and makes 2 stations to be in 1 to beat ABS-CBN. Papano sya maeexcite na bilhin ang ABS if he only knows that the competitor is GMA nalang....the equivalent is like he's beating TV5, hindi exciting ang laban kc nga the other station is not that strong famous here abroad.

Gozon said no negotiations or at least no formal ones. While MVP kept on saying otherwise. Now MVP confirmed it w/ his stockholders. And why Gozon et al is selling the Kapuso network to MVP? What will happen to his Kapuso fanatics? MVP had made an offer to ABS-CBN before for a hefty amount but Gabby Lopez is quick to say "WE ARE NOT FOR SALE". See the difference guys? It's called commitment to serve the nation. In our own words.... "HINDI KAMI NABIBILI"

GMA-7 could also benefit by harnessing PLDT's massive communications infrastructure. The largest television network in the country, ABS-CBN, is already investing aggressively in broadband, while rival GMA-7 has no cable or broadband assets. --- rappler

Eh paano 10 years from now??

Eto ang opinion about MVP --- If PLDT's acquisition of Digitel teaches us anything about the company's chair, it is that he knows how to eliminate a rival and make his company stronger at the same time. Digitel, a distant third industry player, came up with the strategy of offering low-cost unlimited plans, biting into the leading telcos' profits by forcing them to meet their prices with similar cheap and unlimited offers. The problem was solved when PLDT brought Digitel into its fold.

Sorry, uulitin ko lang, marami na ring offers ang ABS-CBN pero eto ang sabi ni Gabby Lopez --- Company chairman Eugenio Lopez III told that the rumored negotiations with Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. PLDT for a possible sale are simply not true. ABS-CBN will not be sold during my lifetime. We have received offers from a number of parties before but we are not interested to sell, --- Lopez emphasized. The close business relations between the PLDT and Lopez groups, anchored on their partnership to preserve the Lopezes’ control in Manila Electric Co. Meralco, have spawned rumors that PLDT, with its eyes cast on the media field, is negotiating to acquire a stake in the Lopez-controlled ABS-CBN.
