Gladys Reyes is known for portraying kontrabida roles since the days of the original Mara Clara.

After her role as a kind and loving mom in her previous project, Wako-wako, Gladys is excited to again play the role of kontrabida in another fantasy series.

In TV5’s upcoming fantaserye, Enchanted Garden, she will be playing the role of Dolores, who will make life miserable for Aya, (played by Alex Gonzaga).

At the story conference of TV5’s newest offering at Max’s restaurant on Scout Tuazon in Quezon City last June 11, Gladys told us how excited she is.

“Kasi unang-una, interesting na talaga yung cast... I first found out from Carmina na yung gagawing first project ni BB and Zoren was a fantaserye…” she said.

This is BB Gandanghari’s first project since her rebirth with a new identity. What's interesting is, she will be working with her ex-wife's [Carmina Villaroel]’s current partner, Zoren Legaspi.

“Tapos nung in-offer na ko ni Nay Lolit, sabi niya, gusto mo ba ‘tong fantaserye. Sabi ko kaagad, teka, yan ba yung kay Zoren and BB? Siyempre di ba? Wala nang isip-isip.

“Gusto ko. Kasi, unang-una, maingay na ‘tong pinag-uusapan, di ba, dahil curious ang mga tao. Anong klaseng show ang puwedeng pagsamahan ni Zoren at ni BB?

“And secondly, matagal ko nang kilala si ano e, well si, a.k.a. Rustom. Pero that time, we were doing teleseryes.

"Ngayon, curious ako kung ano yung nabago sa kanyang attitude sa trabaho, ganyan.

“Kung masaya pa rin ba siya makasama sa trabaho. Ang tingin ko, oo e, ganun pa rin siya.

"Yung working attitude niya. Tingin ko, yun ang hindi nagbago,” she said.

If anything, BB may have become more fun, courtesy of her new found “liberty” in expressing herself.

She agreed, “Yes! Kasi storycon pa lang, dito pa lang, kami-kami magkakatabi nina Zoren, nila BB, nagkakatawanan na kami. What more sa mismong taping day, di ba?”

KONTRABIDA. As mentioned earlier, doing kontrabida roles has been Gladys' trademark. What makes this role different from the others she’s portrayed?
