Eric Quizon says his family has signed a "waiver" in connection with Dolphy's hospitalization for COPD

“It’s difficult to answer that question at the moment. But we have signed a waiver. Kasi kumbaga, that’s a family matter,"  Eric Quizon told Startalk TX co-host Ricky Lo on June 23 when he asked about Dolphy's (in photo) alleged "do not resuscitate" status.

“It’s difficult to answer that question at the moment. But we have signed a waiver. Kasi kumbaga, that’s a family matter.”

Ayon sa pagsasaliksik ng PEP.ph (Philipppine Entertainment Portal), “In medicine, a ‘do not resuscitate’ or ‘DNR,’ sometimes called a ‘No Code,’ is a legal order written either in the hospital or on a legal form to respect the wishes of a patient to not undergo CPR or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) if their heart were to stop or they were to stop breathing.”

NOT IMPROVING BUT NOT DETERIORATING.

“For the last two days, he’s been very stable. Like I said nga in the presscon earlier, nung nagbigay ako ng medical update, yung kanyang ano, tumataas-baba.

“So, kumbaga, parang he’s in that stage na he’s not really improving but he’s not really deteriorating. Kumbaga nandudoon lang siya.

"Yun lang ang maganda doon kahit papaano. Hindi siya nagde-deteriorate, hindi siya nag-i-improve. Kung meron mang improvement, very minimal. Yung deterioration, very minimal din. Somehow nakukontrol naman lahat siya.

“So, ang maganda lang ngayon yung puso nga niya is very good, is in very good condition. Yung heart rate niya is okay, yung blood pressure niya okay, so somehow maganda yun.

Then yung kidney lang niya, kaya of course, we decided to adminsiter dialysis again.”

DIALYSIS.

“Supposedly kasi ang plano nila was like three days straight e.

"Pero naputol yun kahapon [June 22] when the doctors decided to stop kasi nga ang nangyari kahapon was, tumaas yung kanyang heart rate.

"Tapos yung blood pressure niya bumaba. So, kaya sabi nila, ‘O stop muna tayo. Pahinga muna natin ang daddy ninyo.’ So, pinapahinga namin siya.

So, nung okay ang vitals niya, we decided to do the dialysis again kanina at 8:30 in the morning.

ricky lo shouldn't have asked re the waiver qxn, even if it might've been reported in some newspapers already daw. and pep shouldn't have published about it, too. artista nga si dolphy pero eto na yong dividing line talaga between his personal and showbiz life. panghihimasok na eto ng media at kawalan ng respeto sa privacy ni dolphy at ng pamilya.

as much as we don't want our loved ones to prolong their agonies, the more that we don't want to let them go and end their lives. i understand how his children do everything to revive mang dolphy. this is so sad and my prayers go out to the king of comedy and the whole family. God bless them..

And Dolphy went to a tracheostomy. Definitely not a good sign. A relative who is a doctor refused his father to undergo tracheostomy because he knows the bigger risks and he knows what it means as a doctor. Keep the prayers, to alleviate Dolphy's pain.

Ricky Lo is a d o u c h e bag who doesn't have any empathy to the family of the Dolphy. His questions are tacky and inappropriate especially to the family who is now going through this difficult time. He did not practice responsible journalism. It made me cringe when I read this so called journalist's tasteless questions to Eric Quizon. Shame on you!

Dito sa US may mga grief counselors na tumutulong sa pamiya at pag wala na talagang pag-asa, they ask the family to tell the patient na it's okay for them to go, that it's okay for them to rest and be with their Creator. However, it's obviously still up to the patient to let go.

the best thing a family can do for a member who's been in and out the ICU is to sign a DNR waiver... no one will understand the stress that comes with the whole situation, and this goes both for the patient and those around him...

Unbelievable! Why would anyone in his right mind ask if a person is on DNR status? That is just putting the family on the spot, taking advantage of the fact that the family is being cooperative with the media in sharing details re the patients condition. Sometimes, the media, particularly the Phil press, just don't know when to stop or where the line starts and ends
