Eric Quizon says his family has signed a "waiver" in connection with Dolphy's hospitalization for COPD

“It’s difficult to answer that question at the moment. But we have signed a waiver. Kasi kumbaga, that’s a family matter,"  Eric Quizon told Startalk TX co-host Ricky Lo on June 23 when he asked about Dolphy's (in photo) alleged "do not resuscitate" status.

"Ang gusto nilang diaysis today is six to eight hours. Kung magkakaroon ng side effects or epekto, babawasan nila. Pero ideally sana, between six to eight hours. Pero since 8:30 pa yun, dina-dialysis pa rin siya, so nakaka-seven hours na siya.”

Continuous yung seven hours na dialysis?

“Yes continuous. Tapos yun na nga yung hemoglobin count niya kahapon was okay, [it] was 11.

Yesteday was really low 46,000, ngayon nasa 74,000.”

Is it a reason for concern pag tumataas at bumababa yung hemoglobin count at yung platelets?

“Yes, because there is internal bleeding e. So, kaya naggaganun-ganun siya (tumataas-bumababa) because nagkakaroon siya ng internal bleeding. And siyempre we cannot do surgery.

"We can not find out why ang sinasabi nila there is an abrasion or something somewhere. Could be sa colon or sa stomach lining. So, hindi pa natin talaga masigurado kung ano yun. Dahil hindi talaga tayo pwedeng mag-perform ng kahit anong surgery or whatever.”

SENSE OF HUMOR.

"Kasi kahapon he was not that responsive, e. I think that was because nagkaroon siya ng pneumonia. So, he was not as responsive.

"I could be wrong, no. Hindi ko alam kung tama yung sinasabi ko [on] that particular aspect. Dahil kahapon hindi siya talaga that responsive. But today, he’s very responsive.

Siguro probably na-excite siya, could be, could be.”

Yung excitement ba can affect the rise and fall ng hemoglobin count, platelets, heart beat at blood pressure?

“Naniniwala ako it affects, e. Kapag siguro nadidinig niya yung boses ng mga mahal niya sa buhay or yung mga messages na binibigay ng mga tao, somehow siguro I think nakakaapekto yun sa kanya. And I think yung pagdarasal na nga, I think talagang pinakaimportante.”

ricky lo shouldn't have asked re the waiver qxn, even if it might've been reported in some newspapers already daw. and pep shouldn't have published about it, too. artista nga si dolphy pero eto na yong dividing line talaga between his personal and showbiz life. panghihimasok na eto ng media at kawalan ng respeto sa privacy ni dolphy at ng pamilya.

as much as we don't want our loved ones to prolong their agonies, the more that we don't want to let them go and end their lives. i understand how his children do everything to revive mang dolphy. this is so sad and my prayers go out to the king of comedy and the whole family. God bless them..

And Dolphy went to a tracheostomy. Definitely not a good sign. A relative who is a doctor refused his father to undergo tracheostomy because he knows the bigger risks and he knows what it means as a doctor. Keep the prayers, to alleviate Dolphy's pain.

Ricky Lo is a d o u c h e bag who doesn't have any empathy to the family of the Dolphy. His questions are tacky and inappropriate especially to the family who is now going through this difficult time. He did not practice responsible journalism. It made me cringe when I read this so called journalist's tasteless questions to Eric Quizon. Shame on you!

Dito sa US may mga grief counselors na tumutulong sa pamiya at pag wala na talagang pag-asa, they ask the family to tell the patient na it's okay for them to go, that it's okay for them to rest and be with their Creator. However, it's obviously still up to the patient to let go.

the best thing a family can do for a member who's been in and out the ICU is to sign a DNR waiver... no one will understand the stress that comes with the whole situation, and this goes both for the patient and those around him...

Unbelievable! Why would anyone in his right mind ask if a person is on DNR status? That is just putting the family on the spot, taking advantage of the fact that the family is being cooperative with the media in sharing details re the patients condition. Sometimes, the media, particularly the Phil press, just don't know when to stop or where the line starts and ends
