hanggang walang memorandum of agreement na duly notarized hindi maniniwala ang madlang people. strategy lang yan to boost ratings.

My stand on the GMA-TV5 merger, he should just shutdown one network. Keeping one network would definitely increase that network's viewership. Second, it's pointless to have 2 VHF networks by the time digital tv fully rolls out.

f ever the merger pushes thru it will be GMA the controlling corp. being the the biggest network and the number one network in the country. Definitely gma big bosses shall not allow dat it could be 60:40 ang ratio wherein 60 percent will go to gma and the remaining 40 goes to tv5. It will be like VECO which the name VECO remains even if the co. is already acquired by another corp.

    06/27/2012 | 09:26 PM
The GMA bosses could no longer decide for that, as this is not merger but a buyout. PLDT would be the biggest stockholder of GMA.

i dont think so nagkaproblema na nga ang PLDT ngayon sa kanilang franchise. it will still be GMA the controlling corporation and the name gma shall remain. TV5 might be rename as the news channel or something else. Definitely gma shall remain as it has the larger viewership compared to tv5 and even abs.

Nagkakaproblema pala? kakabili lang nga nila ng Sun diba? obviously your for GMA, am I right? you're just so biased for GMA.. in your comments here.

"ABS-CBN's ad are only supplied by one company" - It is not true. One or two conglomerates maybe. Proctor and Gamble and the Colgate-Palmolive have been very faithful to ABS-CBN, there is really no need to prove that. Just watch commercial breaks, and most importantly, check out its endorsers, you'll see what I'm talking about.

to date mas maraming kapuso endorsers the likes of michael V, vic sotto, marian rivera, dingdong dantes, solen, aljur abrenica, jose and wally, mike enrqiquez, vicky morales, mel tiangco, carla abellana, sef cadayona, heart evangelista, jillian ward, the teens compose of barbie, joshua, jake vargas, bea benine etc., kalila the child of munting heredera and many more. Mas malaki pa nga kinita ni marian sa taga dos. Lalo na si Michael which is number one except for kris aquino.

"ratings is more important than ad minutes" It's troubling to see comments such as these. What's the point of high ratings if a show does not garner advertisements? You see, the advertising industry is not ignorant, they don't solely base their decisions on ratings alone, of course they take in consideration, the target markets of each show. Take for example, KrisTV, it is rating poorly yet still has reached a year of airing and is still airing; and of course, they have good ad minutes. Why? compared to animes, which is rating almost double KrisTV, KrisTV targets audiences that have the most purchasing capability, animes target children and young adults teens, which have no or very minimal purchasing capability while in KrisTV, it targets female adults, around 20-40 years of age, which obviously the opposite of anime viewers.

"GMA is still overall winner in Prime time" - Definitely not, ABS-CBN conquers the most important time slots in prime time 6-10:00, GMA's 24 Oras biggest lead leads around 3-5 rating points, lower than Walang Hanggan's 8-10 points biggest lead. "ABS-CBN's ads are bundled/discounted" - There is no proof for that claim. In fact, ABS-CBNs ad rates are higher than GMA's. 300k/30s -ABS, 200-240k/30s -GMA. For the sake for argument, its discounted, it will be still higher or just be equal to GMA's ad rate. But putting logic into consideration, why would ABS-CBN discount their rates if clearly they are dominating in prime time? "ABS-CBN's Nationwide Ratings do not matter" - It does matter, why do you think GMA has been including the nationwide ratings in their "praise plugs" ABS-CBN's Prime time is leading in all nationwide surveys, may it be from AGB or Kantar Media, the reason why GMA seems to lead in the nationwide ratings is because of the great pull of Eat Bulaga during the daytime hours.

Wonder what the GMA starlets have in mind in the pending sell out to TV 5. Magiging Primetime Queen pa din kaya si Aling Maring? Does the contract signed by and between TAPE and GMA shall remain binding and enforceable? What will happen if you put together in 1 talk show Cristy Fermin, Lolit Solis and Shalala? In due time, we'll get the answer. Abangan!
