Maliban sa manaka-nakang write-ups, hindi masyadong visible sa industriya ang stage-movie, singer-actor na si Franco Laurel.

Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Franco at ang unang naitanong namin sa kanya ay kung ano ang pinagkakaabalahan niya nitong mga nakaraang panahon.

“I just finished doing two musicals in the first quarter of the year.

“I did You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown where I played Linus.

“I also did A Fire In the Soul where I played the role of Antonius, which was directed by the great Peque Gallaga.

“I am currently doing Isa Pang Soap Opera for this year's Virgin Labfest at the CCP.

“I was in Cinema One Originals’s Anatomiya Ng Korupsyon which was directed by Dennis Marasigan.

“And I also did a cameo appearance in Regal Film's Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow and Spring Films’s Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme where I appeared as Kimmy's male nurse,” pag-e-enumerate ni Franco ng kanyang mga proyekto.

At dahil nanggaling siya sa pamilya ng mga Laurel at eleksyon na sa susunod na taon, naitanong namin kay Franco kung may plano siyang pasukin ang pulitika.

“No! Politics is not for me. Ayen said if I enter politics, ‘Bahala ka sa buhay mo!” ang natatawang sagot ni Franco.

BLISSFUL MARRIAGE. Speaking of his wife Ayen Munji-Laurel, may kumalat na balitang hiwalay na sila ni Ayen. Ano ang komento ni Franco tungkol dito?

Aniya, “Ayen and I are very happily married. We just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary last March.

“We love and support each other and we are there for each other no matter what. We raise our children the best way we can.

“We are one happy family! We are one happy married couple!”

LIMITED ROLES. Mayroong image si Franco na classy ang dating. Dahil dito, iba raw ang appeal niya sa masa kaya’t hindi siya mabigyan ng roles sa mga teleserye.

Ano ang masasabi niya rito?

“I am an artist first and foremost… and whatever roles na ibibigay sa akin ay gaganapin ko sa pinakamahusay at pinaka-professional na magagawa ko.

“I also believe that there is always the right time for everything.
