“The best way to know about the next relationship you’ll have is you don’t look for it.

“Yeah… I don’t know,” buntong-hininga ni Derek. “I don’t want to say I’m not ready or I’m ready, basta ganun talaga ang buhay.

“Sinabi ko na naman kay Angel 'yan. People fall in and out of love every day.

"So, if she’s fallen out of love with me, I will continue to respect that.”

Sa ngayon ba masasabi niyang happy siya?

“I am. I have a wonderful family who is always there for me. Every time I fall down, they’re there to pick me up.

“That’s why I’m very lucky my family is always there for me.

"So, when I was down because of the breakup, they’re there to pick me up.”

BUSY SCHEDULE. Sa ngayon, mukhang malayo munang pumasok sa isa na namang relationship si Derek.

Abalang-abala kasi ito sa mga trabahong ibinigay sa kanya.

“You know, I don’t have rest talaga.

“We shot the Amazing Race (Philippines). Na-shoot na namin, tapos na lahat. Walang ano yun, wala akong pahinga dun. No one knows that.

“It took a while, tuluy-tuloy yun. Pagkatapos diretsong competition sa Japan.

“Konting pahinga lang ngayon, and then alis na ulit ako for Olympics. So, I’ll be in London for a month.

"And then when I get back here, I think I’ll spend a couple of hours in Manila and then I’ll fly to New York. I might be guesting on the soft opening of TV5, kung makahabol.

“I’ll try my best kasi di naman parang Quiapo 'yan, ang papuntang New York,” nakangiting banggit ni Derek tungkol sa busy schedule niya.

Pagkauwi daw niya ng bansa mula New York sa October, may gagawin na siyang pelikula sa Viva Films.

“I’m gonna be shooting with Anne Curtis, and hindi na si KC [Concepcion], si Andi Eigennman na. She’s a very talented actress.”
