Kris Aquino defends brother Noynoy's TV Patrol speech: “[He] has the right to defend himself & express his opinion.”

Kris Aquino posted this message on her Twitter account last night, July 30, to defend her brother, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III: “[He] has the right to defend himself & express his opinion. Freedom of speech is a 2 way street right?”

PNoy was criticized by ABS-CBN stalwarts for taking Noli de Castro to task when the President delivered a “prangka” speech at the 25thanniversary celebration of TV Patrol last Friday, July 27.

Nagbigay ng pahayag ang TV host-actress na si Kris Aquino bilang depensa sa kanyang kapatid na si Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III kaugnay ng “prangka” speech ni PNoy sa pagdiriwang ng ika-25 anibersaryo ng TV Patrol noong Biyernes, July 27.

Sa kanyang personal Twitter account ay sumagot si Kris sa isang Twitter post, kung saan naka-tag siya:

Sabi ng nag-tag kay Kris, dapat daw ay hindi inaatake ng Pangulo ang media.

Bilang depensa, sinabi naman ni Kapamilya TV host-actress na karapatan din ng kanyang kapatid ang magbigay ng sariling opinyon.

“@NinaBellatrix1 has the right to defend himself & express his opinion? Freedom of speech is a 2 way street right?” sabi ni Kris sa kanyang Twitter post kagabi, July 30.

Sabi pa ni Kris, “@NinaBellatrix1 PNoy is our president & I do believe the majority of our people feel he's doing a great job. Maybe he just like anybody else.”

Ilang araw rin bago nagbigay ng komento si Kris tungkol sa isyung ito. Nag-iingat lang daw kasi siya sa kanyang masasabi.

Kaya naman bago siya sumagot kagabi sa isang user, sinabi niya: “@NinaBellatrix1 hi Nina. Prayed be4 I replied to make sure I don't tweet the wrong thing. My issues r so trivial in comparison to PNoy.”

MALACAÑANG EXPLAINS. Samantala, nilinaw ng Malacañang na ang talumpati ng Pangulo sa pagdiriwang ng ika-25 anibersaryo ng TV Patrol ay hindi lamang ipinaparating sa ABS-CBN kundi sa lahat ng mga media outfit.

Ayon sa ulat ng ABS-CBN News, sinabi ni Presidential Communications Group Secretary Sonny Coloma: “Pinupunto lang ng Pangulo, maaaring maging instrumento sa pagbabago yung mass media sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay din ng mabuting balita, positibong mensahe, na siyang mag-e-encourage din sa ating mga kababayan.”

Ganito rin umano ang naging tema ng talumpati ni PNoy sa isang okasyon ng Philippine Press Institute (PPI).

At halos ganito rin ang naging tema ng kanyang talumpati nang dumalo siya sa pagdiriwang ng ika-25 anibersaryo naman ng pahayagang Business World kamakailan.

THE “PRANGKA” SPEECH. Nag-umpisa ang usap-usapan sa pagiging prangka ni PNoy nang magpasaring siya sa isang news anchor ng TV Patrol na hindi niya pinangalanan.

    The Philippine government's history of corruption will not change. It is already deeply embedded in our culture. It is part of our country's DNA. PNoy is wasting his time. It is a fact that politicians get wealthy in no time. If i had the opportunity to run for office or even leadan agency in the Philippines I would just so I'd get rich quicker than any get rich quick scheme. But I won't and not because i don't have the opportunity to do so but because I found a country that actually gives importance to skills/talent, higher education and hard work and that is my adoptive country ....the USA. Team USA!

    The only mistake PNoy made is to put Noli de Castro on the spot. It would have been better to ignore Noli because he is not relevant to the country's progress. He's a nobody, 2nd rate journalist who constantly mispronounces English words. He forgot what journalism is all about--unbiased opinion and facts. He should've tagged himself as a commentator rather than a journalist. If he pursued journalism in the US, nobody would bother hiring him. He'd be better off as someone like Rush Limbaugh or Howard Stern. He is not a journalist. He is a critic. As for the Pinoys, honesty in governance is really not the focus anymore. People still live Gloria not because she was honest, not because she accomplished a lot but because she was "pop culture", she was seen as a "trend". Wealthy people loved to be associated with her because she had power to do anything she wants or they want. Social climbers loved her because it is awesome to be associated with the wealthy and powerful. In addition to that,

    Ang comment ni Pnoy, for 6 years daw in office though not mentioned, but he is referring to Kabayan Noli, wala itong nagawa, bagkus namana pa daw niya ang problema. As I rewind my memory, he has been in the senate for 9 years ????, ni isang batas, wla naman siyang naipasa. Let's stop looking back dahil you've been in the office for a year already.., keep on working and listened to the media's feedback dahil it helps. Bad or Good, it always give a "wake up call" . I understand you're not Ninoy Aquino and definitely, not even the character of Cory is in you. PATIENCE and A GOOD LISTENER is what I can remember of his parents which unfortunately I can't see in Pnoy character. Just curious???? why at the age of 50, nobody still want's him. I'm sure, it's not because he is the President, but I'm sure, it's because of his character OR OF WHO HE IS. The package is not marketable.

    yung pakikipag date nya ay suggestion ni Kris . Tactic nila yun para di mahalata ang pagiging madre nya kapag nagsimula na ngang pumatol sa mga critisismo sa kanya...Pero sori iisa ang amoy sa kanya ng mga taga federasyon ...isa syang malansang isda!

    the best argument i heard today.... the TV Patrol anniversary was supposedly an occasion to strengthen the relationship between malacanang and the media, but instead it was used to show lack of professionalism... blame the malacanang speech writer, but the bigger blame should be on the one who read the speech, the one who shouldve known better because he is supposedly in power...

    It only shows na kung gaano ka taklesa si Kristeta ay ganoon din ang kanyang kapatid...He may have the right to defend himself pero dapat sa tamang lugar hindi gaya ng lagi niyang ginagawa na kahit na anong speaking engagement niya ay puro si GMA parin ang nasa bibig niya...He should already knew kung ano ang problemang mamanahin niya bago pa man siya tumakbong pagka pangulo pero until now 3years from his term ay hindi parin siya maka move on at mag focus nlng sa kung ano ang magagwa niya tutal siya naman ang pangulo ngayon...and to be fair bakit hindi niya banggitin ang ibang problemang ipinamana ng mga nauna pang adminsitrasyon kasama na ang sa kaniyang ina.

    Noli, wag kang maglinis linisan, wala ka namang nagawa nung 6-year term mo. Si Gloria..mas maraming iskandalo kesa mabuting nagawa. Si Pnoy is doing very well, putting back the word INTEGRITY to the presidency. Hindi magnanakaw, manggagantso. Whatever he says, that's his right as other people have their rights to say whatever they wish. Ang bottomline, PNOY is doing a great job as a president and makes me truly proud to be Pinoy.     until now hinahayaan ni pnoy ang gahamang chinese na mangisda sa karagatan ng pinas bakit d yan ang pagtuunan ng pansin ng ating pangulo. Bakit d nya gamitin pagiging prangka nya sa against china tiklop nga sya eh at walang magawa hay naku ang kaya lang ni pnoy pagsabihan ay ang nasasakupan nya pero yang gahamang china na lumampas sa boundary nila at pumasok sa karagatan ng pinas wala si pnoy magawa kasi sissy ang pangulo ng pinas. Ito na dapat ang tamang pagkakataon na magpakitang gilas si pnoy kaso wala busy sya kadedefend sa critism ng media.

    Wala pa yata akong narinig na presidente o leader na nagparinig sa media bukod kay Noynoy... Hindi na siya 13 years old na kailangang magparinig. Ang kailangan gawin ay mag-usap ng diretso dahil adult na siya at adult din si Noli, hindi parinig.
