Ayon sa board of jury, ang protesta ng Team Philippines “was subjective and not based on technicality.”

Hindi naman matanggap ng executive director ng Amatuer Boxing Association of the Philippines na si Ed Picson ang desisyong ito ng board of jury.

Aniya, "They made the decision even without watching the tape of the bout.’’

I agree with u jans_mom there's nothing wrong with protesting look at what happened to the men's gymnastics team competition a few days ago. If Japan didn't protest and just took the results as is they would've been 4th but they did protest, the officials looked at the tape and they changed the score which made Japan won silver. It's too bad the officials in Barriga's case didn't favor him but it's better to speak up now than not do anything about it.

EVERYBODY agrees that injustice happened here, yet there are people who think that protesting makes us less of a people... this same thing happened during the time of onyok velasco... by protesting, whether we win or not, we are sending a message that we are NOT push-overs who will just swallow every wrong judgment given to us...

Peace!

Let us not waste time on protest as I could not recall a single time when a protest made by any contestant made any difference with the Olympics boards of jury. Let us work harder as there is going to be a next time and maybe, that time will be ours to take. To Mark Barriga, we are still proud of you as you did an awesome job keeping the hope in our hearts alive.

London 2012. Japan's men's artistic gymnastics all-around finals. ended 4th after a "failed" dismount by kohei uchimura. appealed by paying the 500-dollar fee. 1 hour review. credited King Kohei with the dismount score. ended up silver medallists. there. that's why the appeals are in place. if your country thinks you're entitled for a better standing, and you've got the money to pay the fee, then appeal it. it's not a protest. it's an appeal. it's not a waste of time. if the appeal went to the Phil team's favour, you wouldn't be spewing such nonsense.
