Sagot ni Tony, “We didn' t want to go to Europe. Bourne's gone to Europe.

“We thought about Latin America, Southeast Asia… there are several films that we’re planning on going to Latin America.

“Pat Crowley, the producer and I who've travelled all over around the world and all these movies, we went... had a beauty pageant.

“We went to Jakarta [Indonesia], we went to Ho Chi Min City [Vietnam], we went to Manila, over a course of a couple of weeks.

"And we landed in Manila and it felt so Bourne-ish.

"It's just so colorful and ugly and gritty, raw and stinky and crowded...

“They had a great film industry there for years built off the Vietnam films.

I, for one, was not offended by his statements. Kasi nabasa ko yung ibang interviews niya. And wala siyang sinabi kundi papuri sa Pinas. Kung anuman yung sinabi sa article sa itaas na maaaring offensive sa iba, it was mentioned out of description to how the settings of this Bourne film should look like. So hinay-hinay lang.

Ok, thanks for adding insult to injury. The film is as worse as how he described the Phils. It's the worst in all Bourne movies.

Do we Filipinos thank this airhead Toni Gilroy for filming his movie here in the Philippines? What di we gain? Let's be honest, did we really gain anything? When will ever learn? This guy just pulled down the image of the Philippines and USED US ! Instead of being GRATEFUL, this is what we get? INSULTS ?

To be fair, I doubt his intent was to offend. I think he just candidly answered the question.

Lots of people got jobs during the filming. Thousands of them. The government then got taxes and "rent" for using the country as the location.

Its actually true. sadly, manila is stinky, griddy, crowded, etc. If we can't accept that fact or reality, we won't aspire to change and continue to be stinky, griddy, crowded, flooded for years to come. Just look at our neighboring country, their better than us.

: Be positive, Be nice.

I don't think his intention is to offend us. What he say is true. You know what's wrong? Is when we here something we don't what to here from others. He just answer the question. Dapat at this point, we don't need to feel offended or insult, it should be a wake up call to us to be more discipline about our environment.

Agree with Neophyte. I don't think it's his intention to insult us. He said it like it is. Which is a fact that some parts of the country really look like a garbage.
