Part 5. Three more blog sites allegedly plagiarized by Senator Tito Sotto

Canada-based Filipino novelist Miguel Syjuco (not in photo) found three blogs which he claimed were also plagiarized by Senator Tito Sotto (in photo) for the second part of the latter's Senate speech against the RH Bill earlier this week.

Aniya, “A Senator in the Philippines plagiarized one of my blog posts to use in a speech. Can't even believe this!!!”

Villacorta:

“I understand you felt slighted that your blog was not attributed to you which became part of the speech of the senator. let me say that after asking my staff, indeed, your blog was used but only in quoting also from the same book of dr campbell-mcbride.

"we are both indebted to the book's author but if you wish that you also be credited with the contents of the book, let this be your affirmation.

“I can do it and by this message, I am doing it. hope it satisfies you. but if it does not, what would you want us to do?

"what have we done to deserve your incriminating words. the senator did not lift it himself, we did.”

Si Senator Sotto ay miyembro ng Nationalist People's Coalition. Siya rin ang kasalukuyang Senate Majority Floor Leader ng Pilipinas.

Ano ba yan?? Is this the Filipino pride we want to encourage our people from abroad? Very disgraceful. You need extreme damage control.

i didn't like how corrupt the marcos administration was, but at least marcos spoke and wrote in his own words. pero aminin na nating mga pilipino, sa mga research paper, nasanay tayo sa cut and paste din di ba. hahhahaha kaya yun, pati sa senado ginamit ng chief of staff.

Is this guy the senate majority leader? Is that how low our standard is? This is humiliating for us as Filipinos. Even if his staff took parts of his speech from various sources, it was okay provided they acknowledged the original authors who made those comments. But for him to own those comments is basically telling us that he is smart when he is far from it. He needs to fire his chief of staff and if he has an ounce of delikadesa, he should resign from the senate. But sayang yung kick backs so I think he will stay until this issue blows over. What is the lesson here - make sure to elect people who knows what they are doing and not because they are actors.

Only in the Philippines... mga lawmakers na mga arttista kuno. Pweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

So kahit inaprobahan ng chief of staff pwede pa ring i-fire ang sumulat.

Lame excuse. If the speech was delivered to a limited audiencelike a class or a small gathering okay lang siguro kasi walang mkakapansin. His platform was at the SENATE for crying out loud. His chief of staff should have been more careful given how important and sensitive the topic is.
