Ang unang reaksiyon daw ni Zsa Zsa dito ay: “Oh man, I have cancer.”

ZSA ZSA’S HEALTH CONDITION.

Sabi ni Zsa Zsa: “I was diagnosed with cancer. Actually, first check-up pa lang when they saw my old films in Manila, Dr. Froch told me it's malignant.”

“I had blood works and a CT scan yesterday with and without the dye and it still showed the same thing—almost 3 cm tumor.

“He wants to take it out.

FYI: Stage I Renal l Cell Carcinoma which is what she is diagnosed with is really treatable. NephrectomY removal of the affected kidney thru laparoscopic surgery is the treatment of choice and it is really CURATIVE for this specific cancer, no radiation, no chemo needed, follow up can be very 6 months or longer. She has very good prognosis, once it is taken out, she is truly cancer free. Stop giving opinions based on your little knowledge, it is not like the other cancers. you are not oncologists. She has the best doctors taking care of her and the treatment is evidence based! Just Pray for Zsa zsa, that she has not get complications. she should be fine after since the laparoscopic surgery has good recovery time. Take Care and get well soon Zsa Zsa.

I am an oncologist. But whatever pieces of info that the other non-md's here have shared, i also appreciate. In truth, you dont even have to be an md to come up with info about these things. Google is free lol :- They may not have had received formal med school knowledge, and i may have had gone thru all levels of schooling, but it doesnt mean that i know more, and they know less. Peace :-

Zsa Zsa - please do not agree to the once a year monitoring after the surgery. Ask for every six months at the very maximum. With cancer you need to take the aggressive approach in monitoring it maski Stage 1 pa lang...

I am not a doctor pero ang alam ko sa cancer based on the experience my family has had with this dreaded disease, when it is Stage 1 - it means it is only within the organ where the tumor was found. When it goes to Stage 2 - that means - it has "traveled" to the nearby related organs. And this is where it starts to become really scary. Whenever cancer has spread to the other organs - the treatment affects your quality of life etc etc. Kaya please lang - stick with the 6 months check up. It should actually start with the 3 month monitoring for a year and then to 4 months after the second year and then to the 6 months. The first 3 years is critical as it will determine if you are really cancer free. Stay well and avoid stress...

to starqueen, Stages I-III cancers have not yet traveled or metastasized to other organs. For example, Stages I-III breast cancer is only found in the breast. There is just an increase in size of the tumor, which means there is disease progression. Stage I might have a small tumor, and it will increase in size as it progresses. However, if it has already metastasized to other organs, like brain, bone, liver or lung, it is already stage IV. This is the end stage of the disease, and at present in the country, this is the incurable stage. Radiation and surgery may only be opted to prevent further metastasis and reduce pain.

There is a saying that when it rains, it pours. Count your blessings Zsa Zsa that it is Stage 1 and that surgery will most likely address it. You just need to be vigilant about the monitoring process after surgery in order to make sure it never ever comes back. Be strong.

have you had surgery, chemo and rads???

Duh. I have the knowledge about the treatments because I have learned them. Stage I is generally curable and it only requires surgical intervention. Stages II and III are the ones that require chemotherapy because there is advanced cancer growth already. Meanwhile stage IV may only require radiation therapy because there is already metastasis, and this treatment is only palliative, just to reduce symptoms. You don't have to experience such just to know and understand cancer. :

it is one think to sound off your theoretical knowledge and another thing to impose it on people. You have not gone thru the journey so do not sound like you know it. we can all chime in our opinions here. Readings, hahahahaha. Wait till you experience it. Cancer has no cure yet. What is available are TREATMENTS - maki pag usap ka sa doctor oncologists, you will understand better. 'nuff said.

But dont say it's not true at all. A survivor can be called "CURED" if there are no traces of cancer cells in the body. This is somewhat good for 5 years. Pls don't say I will experience it. What goes around comes around. : Peace! Good morning. :

Malignant means its cancerous. Stage I is the earliest stage, and stage IV is the worst. For stage I kidney cancer, surgery is the primary treatment option. No need for adjuvant meaning, after surgery chemo or radiation, as mentioned. We give chemo for advanced or metastatic renal CA, which is not her case. She will be fine, as long as surgery is done. I understand sharon cuneta's emo outburst on twitter, but maybe shes overreacting a bit. Even zsa zsa herself doesnt dwell so much on the negativity. Cancer may be dreaded but may be curable, if the proper treatment sequences are followed.
