Felipe Gozon on ongoing negotiation with MVP to buy GMA-7: “Kapag hindi ito natuloy this year, palagay ko hindi na matutuloy."

Nilinaw ni GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon na hindi sila ang nag-alok upang ibenta ang shares nila sa GMA-7: “We were not peddling our shares for sale. They came to us to buy our shares and the offer is to buy all our shares. Right now, what is on the table is 100 percent. If you're asking if we are willing to be a minority, the answer is no.”

Idinetalye ni GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon at ng iba pang Kapuso executives ang expansion na kasalukuyang ginagawa ng GMA-7.

Noong Hunyo, binuksan nila ang isang originating station sa Ilocos, samantalang ngayong Agosto ay naganap ang launching ng isa pa nilang originating station sa Bicol.

“These two stations alone cost us more than P200 million. The cost in Ilocos is not the same as Bicol… There is no question that we have the money to do that,” ani Atty. Gozon sa media briefing na naganap sa 16th floor boardroom ng GMA Network noong Agosto 22.

Ayon sa chief financial officer ng GMA-7, na si Mr. Felipe Yalong, nag-allocate sila ng budget na P160 million para sa Bicol project at P115 million para sa Ilocos project.

Dumalo rin sa media briefing sina Mr. Gilberto Duavit Jr., president and COO; Rikki Escudero, vice president for regional TV; at Engineer Elvis Ancheta, vice president of the transmission regional engineering department.

THE NEGOTIATION. Sa kabilang banda, kinumpirma ni Atty. Gozon na ongoing pa rin ang negosasyon sa pagitan nila ng kampo ni Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman ng rival network na TV5.

Matutuloy ba ang pagbili ni Manny V. Pangilinan—o mas kilala bilang MVP—sa GMA-7?

“We honestly do not know,” sagot ni Atty. Gozon.

Paliwanag niya, “It can go either way because there are still many outstanding issues to be resolved.

"We are continuing to talk, but beyond that, I cannot say anything anymore.

"Whether we will reach an agreement or not, it is not for me alone to say.”

Kung matutuloy man ang naturang deal, paano ito makakaapekto sa market value ng Kapuso Network?

“You better ask the buyer since we would no longer be in control,” sagot ni Atty. Gozon.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang pamilya ng mga Gozon, Duavit, at Jimenez ang majority owners ng GMA-7.

    BUSINESS IS GOING AS USUAL AT GMA7. It is good to note that in spite of global financial crisis, GMA7 is continuing with its expansion without resorting to any syndicated loans. In fact, it is good to see that GMA7 shares is doing well, doing exceptionally well especially in the past 6 months. In comparison, the rival network ABS CBN is experiencing TURBULENCE in SELLING its shares, now almost at a BARGAIN price of P25 - six months ago it was pegged at P42, but now DOWN by more than FORTY percent!

    Yun ay KUNG matutuloy nga ang sinasabing 100 percent deal negotiation na GUSTO ni Mr. Pangilinan. But since, meron ding sinabi si Mr. Gozon na WE ARE NOT WILLING TO BE A MINORITY, mukhang MALABO ng matuloy ito. you are right. BUYER nga dahil 100 percent ang GUSTO ni MVP na HINDI pinapaboran ni Mr. Gozon.

    Meralco? Bwahahahhaa. Ayun paiyk-iyak pa ang matandang Lopez. Binili ng mahal ni MVP. Walang binibili si MVP na walang kwentang kumpanya at tadtad ng utang tulad ng ABS. Lokohin mo pa ang sarili mo dahil murang mura na lang ABS.

    ABSCBN won't even thinking of selling as it is already an institution and you have to admit to yourself that this is the truth. In business world, debts are just part of the game to succeed, even other biggest corporations in the world gambled. GMA7 is getting there already to become better too as they have reaching out to areas that once ABSCBN dominated but sad that the owners have no congruent plans in the long run. They are just like playing poker, win or lose. Having big TV stations in the country is a good news as this will create more jobs. Sad that many of Filipinos are so pathetic, let crab mentality be out of your system guys and just enjoy the programs that these big stations is offering.

    I AGREE, na dapat mawala ang crab mentality sa sistemang pinoy....on the other hand ..kung tatanawin paano/bakit na-uso ang salpukan ng kapamilya-kapuso.. sinimulan ito ng abs-cbn..sila ang nagpauso na ang kanilang talent ay dapat kahit anino man lang nito ay di dapat ma-aninag sa ibang istasyon..anomang issue ang paguusapan tungkol sa ibang istasyon bawal na banggitin ang pangalan ng istasyong ito........natural na may kondisyon sa anomang transaksyon ngunit naging malabis ang paghihigpit ang abs-cbn...kaliwat-kanan ang pamamimiratang ginawa nila mula sa ibat-ibang istasyon kahit noon pa man..... hanggang dumating ang araw na ang dating NO1 ay naungusan ng iba kayat punong puno ito ng insecurities.....ang resulta.. ang tila walang katapusang NETWORK WAR!

    An institution? Bwahahahaha. Anong institution sa ABS. Debts are part of a corporation. Paying debts is also part of a corporation. ABS dagdag lang ng dagdag ng utang. Iyong hindi makabayad ng utang ibig sabihin luging lugi na ang kumpanya.

    Tsk..tsk..gagamitin lang ni MVP yung resources na napundar na ng GMA para huwag completely bumagsak yung TV5. Sayang lang ang hard work ng mga taga GMA, magiging utang nila lahat ng utang ng TV5...sayang naman...pero sa isang banda kung ako nga naman sa lugar ni Atty. Gozon, pwede na kong mag-retire...mas maganda..ha..ha..

    Huwag ka ngang bitter...mas mataas ang value ng ABS sa stock exchange kesa sa GMA kaya mas magandang investment kesa kay MVP yung GMA kasi mas mura yung pagbili per share.

    kapusotid -question lang institution in what way? i think kung hindi pa namulitika ang ang mga lopezes i don't think wala naman silang maipagmamalaking nagawa sa business industry. utang na loob nila lahat sa mga Aquino ang mga businesses na mayroon sila pero the truth hurts too na unti unti ng nawawala dahil kahit Meralco eh hindi na 100 percent sa kanila.

    Talagang nahihirapan si MVP mabili ang GMA7. Mabuti pa ang Meralco madaling nabili sa mga Lopez. Pero ang ABS wala man lang magka-interest at mukhang mas marami pang interesado sa RPN9 at IBC13. Kasi naman luging lugi din naman ang ABS tulad ng RPN9 at IBC13. Ang pinag-kaiba lang at mas maganda sa RPN9 at IBC13 hindi tadtad ng utang.

    Lopez firms sold meralco to bouy-out its foreign partner sa Malampaya gas project. Last June 100 ng pagmamayari ng Lopez ang gas fired power plants in batangas. Lopez will concentrate in power generation in years to come and 100 of its plant output will be utilized by Meralco.

    Nalugi ang GMA dahil kay Marian. Mula nang siya ang star sa kanilang network at panay ang bigay ng projects na flop lahat, na bagsak na tuloy ang GMA. Kasi akala niyo sikat ang alaga niyong si marian ,hindi eh, ang mga movie at tv viewers ang may say diyan kung sikat ang artista or hindi. See, ipagbili na.

ISANG TAON LANG AT BIGLANG ANG TAAS NG BAGSAK! pilit mong isaisip na sikat sya pero biglang nawala asan na sya??? kayo kc nagpabagsak sa kanya ang papangit ng mga ugali nyo kapag may mga shows sya imbis na i-aapreciate kapag may mga endorsement at shows ayun naging greedy na yung ugali nyo!!
