Kahapon, September 6, at 4:30 p.m. (10:30 p.m.

"This is one of the oldest establishments in the world," banggit pa ng direktor tungkol sa hotel na tinutuluyan.

Mula sa hotel, napaulat din na ang delegasyon were driven in Lancia limousines to the presscon venue, in a separate function room, kung saan din gaganapin ang official screening ng Thy Womb sa Sala Grande (Cinema Hall).

STANDING OVATION.

Sad that Filipino mentality is this -- I cannot win againts the best actresses from other countries so I will just pretend to be a good politician. Nora can compete with the best actresses in the world so I will downplay her victories and proclaim that I am the better actress because I am now a politician. Vilma is a winning politician. Nora is an internationall winning actress.

THE DIFFERENCE: While Vilma has set, programmed and attained most vital things that are relatively significant to life Nora sadly ends up dwelling in the past stardome, battling drug addiction, begging for work, searching for life. People will watch Nora still struggling for awards and money whilst Vilma is living comfortably and giving back.

Correction. Nora isn't begging for awards. She is competing for awards and take note --- againts formidable foreign acts like Korea's Choo Min-soo and Russia's Darya Ekamasova -- mind you no push-overs when it comes to world class acting and yes... Nora's so far winning the head-to-heads. Nora Aunor was very clear in her statements -- "she will pursue artistry as long as she can , high, lows and the in-betweens of life". Regarding Governor Vilma. I admire her aspiration to attain the most significant things in life as you have mentioned. I just wonder, isn't competing againts the best actresses in the world not part of her goals? Because if my estimates are correct, she has done 5 or 6 big movies for the past 10 years, she has not made it to Cannes, Berlin or Venice and got nominated by APSA ? What's wrong? So you mean to say Vilma isn't at part world class because she has higher aspirations in life? What higher aspirations? Politics? Am I the only one here who thinks politics in the Philippines is the worst?

Win or lose, it is not every year that a Filipino film gets to be showcased side by side the world's best. Kasi ang hirap nito, kung halimbawang matalo, some people will dismiss the film as a failure. Pustahan yan ang mangyayari. This year's selection for Venice was said to be narrowed down talaga according to the festival committee, unlike the previous years na mas marami ang entries. This is really a feat, not just for the people behind the film, but for Philippine Cinema in general. I wish the film well and yes, win or lose, Thy Womb has already done the country proud!

Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford are Hollywood celebrities whose personalities do not cling or click to most Filipinos. There is no need to elaborate why they are still famous and remembered even until now that the three of them are already dead: Hepburn, Davies and Crawford. On Nora Aunor, her name’s kilig factor stayed good only during her younger years when most of her movies were made by producers with vulture instinct. It was only Lino Brocka who gambled and transformed her into an acting monster directing her latter years’ movies of exceptional quality. Today, the bakya crowd still dominates the Filipino film industry. Movies are made to suit the dictates of this crowd who demand that it be so because they are the ones paying at the box office thus, enriching the producer’s coffers but not the industry itself. That’s business side of the game. But can anybody guess why the name Nora Aunor still reverberates among the most profit conscious producers despite her bankability being in doubt?

sa tatlong taong walang Diyos unang nagpakita ng natatanging pag-arte si Nora at hindi sa mga Lino Brocka movies and it was directed by Mario Ohara noong 1976. Lino Brocka did not transformed her into an acting monster... it is an inborn talent of Nora Aunor... she challenged herself in deciding to do these critically acclaimed films simply because gusto niyang gumawa ng makabuluhang pelikula at ayaw niya ng pa-cute lang. kaya sa edad na 21, eh nagsimula siyang magproduce ng pelikula na masasabing obra maestrang maituturing hanggang ngayon like 3 taong walang Diyos at Bona.

Truth hurts. Who made her known via international film festivals?
