Charice's manager questions Pinoys who rave about Jessica Sanchez: "...it's kind of wrong to say Jessica is part of Filipino pride when she is American before anything else."

"If only the people of the Philippines would stop looking elsewhere and focus on local things, maybe they could see the value of many of  the great people and resources there," says Charice's manager, Courtney Blooding, about Pinoys who are raving about Jessica Sanchez (left).

"why do the Philippines claim Jessica Sanchez? Jessica was born an raised in the US. I don't THINK she speaks tagalog.

"which, to me, makes her true American. How many people in the US come from mixed cultural backgrounds? We r a melting pot.

"AND I just read that this concert is her first ever trip to the Philippines....

"isn't a Filipino passport kind of a big indication of citizenship and a lack of one a big indication of no citizenship?"

Aniya, "If only the people of the Philippines would stop looking elsewhere and focus on local things, maybe they could see the value of many of of the great people and resources there. Many great things and people there. It's just a group mentality that it's not good enough

"It's kind of a turn off to a foreigner such as myself cuz it can come across as ungrateful for the talent and resources god gave."

DIFFERENT OPINIONS.

Saad ni Blooding, "there is room for everyone an people will love or hate no matter what. But I just think it's kind of wrong to say Jessica is part of Filipino pride when she is American before anything else.

"And the more I think about it, I start to get insulted on many levels.

TRUE. Even ABS CBN news programming, like BANDILA, was so WRONG when referring to Jessica Sanchez as PINOY mexican singer. She is an AMERICAN singer.

I agree with you. Nakakagulat yung iba sa sobrang passionate nila to say Pinoy pride si Jessica or whoever else when the person is not a full-blooded Filipino. Like you said, by association ang motivation factor nila. To say Filipino-pride to someone who is part-Filipino shows our standards are pretty low because we'll take anybody as our own even if he or she is just part Filipino, not truly like us as a whole. I think no one is as vocal as Filipinos when it comes to telling everyone this person is from our country without analyzing the facts first. It almost like, our insecurity reacts immediately. I think it stems from not having true ideals from our countrymen or country. The standards in the Philippines is not consistent. In the US, e don't see that. The good-looking ones can try without talent they don't last. While sa atin kahit walang talent basta maganda and make connections pa-pasa.

Kaya hindi rin sila natutong magtagalog not bec of their parents. Iyong iba nagpapablonde pa at paputi. OO choice nila iyan none of my business. She 2 shades lighter since nagsimula siya. Anyway kanya kanyang choice iyang.

the manager was right. jessica is born and raise here in the states. ang pagkakamali lng ng mga pinoy parents here sa state d nila natuturuan magsalita ng filipino ung mga anak nila. ang taas kasi ng noo natin to embrace other culture. nawawala ung sarili nating kultura. i studied early childhood here, dun ko lang nalaman na pg may sarili kang kultura embrace it and try to speak your own language at home for the sake of your children. it is not for the parents benefit its for the children. i have a half filipino classmate she doesnt even know how to speak tagalog. what a shame!

We're proud of Charice.

First the foreigner Manager should know how not to talk being bitter - Charice proudly sang USA anthem songs many times - she was promoted abroad - she OA dress like a white singer - while in the PHIL she should have sang and promoted many OPM proudly english or tagalog - she's super OA as judge in X FACTOR. She maybe kind of LAOS already - believe it or not - but its not too late yet. She may come up with Hollywood gigs but it doesnt really mean anything with Filipino taste or liking - I wish her all the best, nothing is impossible and she may yet too pull the best surprise yet - if she first ask her Manager to be quiet and instead find her more important gigs - stars come and go - aways.

Everything she said is true I totally agree with her and charice is not whitewash coz she loves her country she loves everything about the philippines including local starts, just because she changed the color of hair hair doesn't mean she is whitewash, a lot of local celebrities dyed their hair with different colors including blonde. Also for the people that wanted charice to talk in tagalog on xfactor are you deaf can't you hear her talks tagalog most of the time more than the other 3 judges, why don't you tell the 3 other judges who speaks more in english than tagalog. I say the majority of filipinos are the ones who are whitewash, coz they like made in u.s.a, europe etc, they wear clothes by foreign designers from head to toes, they support foreign singerss than the local and when someone like charice made it to hollywood they bash, make fun and tried to bring her down, really pathetic kind of attitude. Charice still have a lot of followers around the world so for people who said she is laos they were wrong, these are the people who never supported her in the beginning coz their local idols didn't achieve what she achieved.
