Personal na tinawagan ni Marjorie Barretto ang PEP editor-in-chief na si Jo-Ann Maglipon ngayong gabi, May 7, upang ipaliwanag ang nauna niyang pahayag kaugnay ng pagkalat ng nude photos niya sa Internet.

Matatandaang kahapon, May 6, ay itinanggi ni Marjorie sa PEP na siya ang babae sa mga larawang kumakalat sa social networking sites at nailathala sa ilang tabloids at news websites.

Aniya, "No. That's not me. I would never do something like that. That's not my nature."

Ngunit isang araw pagkatapos nito ay nagpatawag ang mga abugado ni Marjorie—ang Kapunan Garcia & Castillo Law Offices—ng press conference upang ianunsiyo na nagsasagawa na sila ng legal na hakbang upang matukoy kung sino ang nagpasimuno ng pagkalat na mga larawan ng kanilang kliyente.

Base sa statement na inilabas ng kampo ni Marjorie sa media, lumalabas na ang dating aktres ang siyang nasa “nude photos.”

Dahil dito ay kaagad na nagpadala ng mensahe si Jo-Ann kay Marjorie, sa pamamagitan ng text, upang linawin ang pagkakaiba ng naging pahayag ng dating aktres kahapon at sa statement na inilabas ng kanyang kampo kaninang hapon.

Kaninang bandang alas-nuwebe ng gabi ay tinawagan ni Marjorie si Jo-Ann.

Dito ay ipinaliwanag niya ang kanyang posisyon sa kontrobersiyang kinahaharap.

Sabi niya, “When you called me that first time, I swear, I was stunned.

“I didn’t know what you were talking about. I didn’t even know that there was anything circulating anywhere about me.

“I had just woken up, and I was really caught unaware.

“You were talking about photos of me. It was such a nightmare. I didn’t know how to take it in.  

“You know me well. If I cannot tell the truth, I won’t lie. If I won’t answer, it must be because I can’t give an honest answer. In other words, if I cannot tell the truth, I would rather not talk.

“I didn’t want to give you a statement at first because I really didn’t know what this was about. I asked you to describe the photos to me, and [when you did] I really did not recognize myself as being the person.

“That’s why I said it wasn’t me.
