After leaving the Philippines again for Korea last August 1, 2007, Sandara Park got signed up the next day with YG Entertainment, the premiere talent managing group in Korea which specializes in Hip Hop and R&B music.
Sandara was included in an all-girl group called 21 (pronounced "To Anyone"). However, because there is another Korean artist who goes by that same name, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk decided to rename the all-girl group 2NE1. The added NE on their new name stands for "New Evolution" says Yang Hyun Suk.
2NE1 is being build up as the female version of the popular all-male group Big Bang. 2NE1's first K-Pop music debut is a dance single titled "Lollipop" performed with Big Bang. It is also the theme song for the new LG Cyon cellphone commercial which also features the two singing groups.
2NE1 consists of four members: Park Bom (a.k.a. Jenny Park, 25); Kong Min Ji (15); CL (a.k.a. Chae Lee / Faith Lee, 19); and former Star Circle Questor Sandara Park (24).
