Prolific singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid celebrated his 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry by staging a major concert. Billed as Twenty/Twenty, Ogie filled the Araneta Coliseum to the rafters last Saturday night, September 27, as he looked back on his very successful career.

Ogie was in high spirits upon seeing thousands of people at his concert. For his opening number, Ogie got the audience up on their feet as he belted out "Sumayaw, Sumunod."

Before Ogie came out, the orchestra played tunes from Ogie's hits, including "Nandito Ako" which was sung by famous celebrities and was shown as a video collage (bottom). Above is the logo of Ogie's 20th anniversary concert.

Ogie rearranged one of his first hits, "Ako'y Iyong Iyo," which he did in 1988. He was joined in this number by Nyoy Volante and Side A's Joey Generoso.

Ogie also paid tribute to his contemporary singer-songwriters by singing some of their hit songs with Lovi Poe and Dennis Trillo. Lovi is Ogie's "sister" talent under the management of Leo Dominguez; Dennis is Ogie's co-host in SOP. Dennis recorded his own album under Ogie and Regine Velasquez's IndiMusic.

Of course, Ogie's 20th celebration would not be complete without his "small brother" Janno Gibbs. Ogie and Janno sang "I Believe In Dreams," an original composition of Janno. Ogie and Janno's friendship has also reached its 20th year.

Ogie admitted that he had a hard time giving up his composition "Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap," which was commissioned by ABS-CBN. Ogie performed that song with Piolo. Ogie was the composer of Piolo's first hit, "Kailangan Kita," which was also the title of a movie starring Aga Muhlach and Claudine Barretto.
