In the movie, Dingdong Dantes plays the character of Migs while Marian Rivera assumes the role of a pretty and humble nurse named Joy.
Iza Calzado (not in photo) is also part of the movie and she portrays the role of Bela—Migs's original girlfriend who decides to migrate abroad together with her family.

Marian and Dingdong will try to bring their magic to the big screen via GMA Films and Regal Entertainment's romantic-drama offering, One True Love.

Marian cited One True Love as perhaps her most daring role to date. "Hindi ako nagnana-nighties, ngayon nagna-nighties ako," said Marian in describing her role in the movie as compared to the characters she did in her previous TV shows Marimar and Dyesebel.

The showing of One True Love coincides with the nagging rumor that Dingdong's relationship with longtime girlfriend Karylle is already over.

The alleged breakup of Dingdong and Karylle prompted speculation that perhaps there's a third party involved. The culprit, Marian. But she insists that she and Dong are only good friends.

The director of One True Love is Mac Alejandre. He explained that the film aims to explore the essence of true love, no matter how extreme it is. "The film poses several questions. Some questions are answered, some questions may not be answered. But some of the questions, ang true love ba ay ‘yong pag-ibig na ipinaglalaban o ‘yong pag-ibig na nagpaparaya?"

Aside from One True Love, Marian is also busy finishing Desperadas 2, Shake, Rattle & Roll X and Scaregiver, where she will have a cameo role.

Both Marian and Dingdong are unfazed by the so-called "sawa" factor in terms of public acceptance. According to Marian, the roles they portray in the film are a big departure from the what they did on primetime television.

Direk Mac stressed that Dingdong and Marian will assume mature roles in One True Love. In fact, part of the script includes two love scenes which are said to be "pag-uusapan."

Playing up to the rumor linking them as lovers in real life, Marian jokingly told Dingdong the moment he acted sweet towards her, "Mag-syota na naman tayo niyan!"

Despite the rumor linking the two lead stars, Direk Mac proudly said that there was no "ilangan" between Dingdong and Marian during the shoot. "Absolutely wala. And I think because they were well trained for that."

Marian credited Direk Mac's approach and expertise by saying, "Sa Dyesebel kasi, kiss lang kami, dito kasi may mga atake na ginagawa si Direk Mac [Alejandre] na ginawa namin pero dahil sa mga camera niya, kung paano niya iikot so mag-iiba talaga sa paningin ng tao. Instead kasi na focus agad sa mukha, kunwari balikat muna. So, ginawa niyang mas kapanapanabik siya at mas kaayaaya siyang panoorin, na parang hindi bastos pero wow! Parang nakaka-in love."
