Jennylyn and Mark are reunited in the TV adaptation of the 1983 classic melodrama Paano Ba ang Mangarap?, which is a gripping saga of unconditional love and destiny.

Jennylyn and Mark are products of the reality-based artista search StarStruck, where they emerged winners.

Jennylyn plays Lissa, a poor girl who is having a secret affair with a rich boy, Benny Valderama (Hero Angeles), who got her pregnant and is willing to marry her. Jennylyn's role was originally portrayed by Ms. Vilma Santos.

Mark is reprising the role originally played by Drama King Christopher de Loen. He plays Eric, the brother of Benny who will eventually fall in love with Lissa.

Hero Angeles plays Benny Villarama, a rich kid from the city whose family owns a huge jewelry business and a mining company. Benny is Lissa's secret boyfriend and the one who got her pregnant. But tragedy ensued when Benny died from a car accident. Hero's role was originally played by the late Jay Ilagan, who incidentally died in a motorcycle accident.

Seasoned actor Tirso Cruz III plays Don Mateo, the father of Eric and Benny, who disapproves Benny's decision to marry Lissa.

Bing Loyzaga returns to being "mataray" with her role as Doña Francia, the haughty and arrogant mother of Eric and Benny who will make Lissa's life miserable. She will also do everything to get Lissa's son with Benny. Bing is reprising the role originally portrayed by Armida Siguion-Reyna.

Chynna Ortaleza is Maya, Eric's ex-girlfriend who will do everything to win him back. Chynna's role was originally played by Amy Austria.

Rainier Castillo plays Vince, the best friend of Eric. In real life, Rainier and Mark are really best friends.

Former rivals Mark Herras and Hero Angeles play brothers in Paano Ba ang Mangarap?. Mark was the first-ever Ultimate Male Survivor in StarStruck while Herow as the first Grand Questor in Star Circle Quest. The are also together in Luna Mystika.

Jennylyn is surprised by the big change that Mark is showing during their tapings. Gone is the "maharot" Mark, who is now taking his role very seriously.
