Nanay Dionisia felt like a debutante on her grand 60th
birthday party prepared by her son, boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, at Phela
Grande Convention in General Santos City last May 15.
At around seven o' clock, the visitors started
coming in. According to news reports
there were almost 500 invited guests at the party, which had a pink and
lavender theme.
Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao escorted his mother, who is
now dubbed as Pac-mom. He prepared a
lavish birthday celebration for his Nanay Dionisia to make her feel what it's
like to be a debutante, which she did not experience because of poverty.
Moments later, Manny Pacquiao's wife Jinkee Pacquiao arrived
with three of their four children: Princess, Jemuel, and Michael (in
striped polo behind Princess).
Jinkee gave birth to their fourth child, named Queen
Elizabeth last December 2008.
These were three of the five gowns that Nanay Dionisia
bought in Las Vegas for this occasion.
In a Startalk interview, the 60-year-old mother
The main highlight of the celebration was Nanay Dionisia's
dance numbers.
She knew that many were looking forward to see her
dancing skills. In fact, in an
interview with Startalk before the event, she said, "Excited na silang
makita ang aking gown, naka-sexy gown, at lalo na ang dancing ko na inaabangan
daw."
Pacman took this opportunity to thank his mom for
single-handedly raising him and his two brothers.
And his message to Nanay Dionisia, "Hangad ko ay
kaligayahan mo. Kung hindi sa 'yo,
walang Manny Pacquiao, wala kami rito. Maraming salamat po sa pagpapalaki ninyo sa amin ng may takot sa Panginoon."
