One Glamorous Night: Greater and Grateful at 59 (Part 4)
GMA-7, the Kapuso network, celebrates its 59th anniversary with a
glittering and grandiose pageantry of star force—with more than 100
Kapuso stars in attendance—bearing the anniversary theme One Glamorous Night: Greater and Grateful at 59. The star-studded musical cum fashion show was held last June 19 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Jay-R and Kyla, the Prince and Princess of R&B, opened the 59th anniversary special of GMA-7 with a glittery and colorful number. Jay-R and Kyla are regularly seen in the musical-variety show SOP.
The resident celebrity dancers of GMA-7: (from left) Miggy Tanchangco, Mart Escudero, Rainier Castillo, Mark Herras, Mico Aytona, and Felix Roco kept the energy on a high level.
Rainier Castillo gained popularity with his "killer smile" that made him a favorite during the first StarStruck. He finished second behind winner Mark Herras.

Eddie Garcia played various characters in the many shows that he did for GMA-7. Some of the most memorable are his roles in Kung Mawawala Ka, Narito ang Puso Ko, Darna, Asian Treasures, Joaquin Bordado, Lalola, and Totoy Bato.
Celia Rodriguez in a black gown with matching black turban, which has become her trademark during awards nights. Celia's most memorable projects in GMA-7 are Darna, Mga Mata Ni Anghelita, and All About Eve.
Jean Garcia is one of the most dependable actresses of GMA-7. Since moving to GMA-7, she has done seven primetime soaps: Majika, Atlantika, Impostora, La Vendetta, Dyesebel, Gagambino, and All About Eve.
Jackie Lou Blanco's mestiza look is perfect for character roles, like in the following TV series: Captain Barbell, Sinasamba Kita, Magdusa Ka, Lalola, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, and Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat Sa Akin.
Sheryl Cruz has done the following shows in GMA-7 since her comeback: Mulawin, Now and Forever: Tinig, Now and Forever: Ganti, Bakekang, Sinasamba Kita, Mga Mata Ni Anghelita, Luna Mystika, and SRO Cinemaserye Presents Ganti ng Puso. She will be seen next in Rosalinda.
Angelika dela Cruz's acting skill was honed in GMA-7 through the following shows: Di Ba't Ikaw, Umulan Man O Umaraw, Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin, Habang Kapiling Ka, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, Una Kang Naging Akin, and Lalola.
Angelu de Leon's maturity as an actress became evident in these GMA-7 drama shows: TGIS, Growing Up, Ikaw Na Sana, Sana ay Ikaw Na nga, Te Amo: Maging Sino Ka Man, and Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang.
Former child actor Paolo Contis has evolved into one of the country's finest actors. Some of his most memorable projects in the Kapuso network are: Sugo, Atlantika, Mga Mata ni Anghelita, Asian Treasures, La Vendetta, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, Codename: Asero, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, and SRO Cinemaserye Presents Suspetsa.
Polo Ravales was also successful in reinventing himself as shown in these Kapuso programs: TGIS, Anna Karenina, Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw, Hanggang Kailan, Now and Forever (Linlang, Dangal, Agos), Encantadia, Majika, Lupin, La Vendetta, Pasan Ko ang Daigdig, Maging Akin Ka Lamang, and Gagambino.
Veteran broadcaster Mike Enriquez reiterated to the people the famous slogan of GMA News and Public Affairs: "Walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan, serbisyong totoo lamang." Mike co-anchors the primetime newscast 24 Oras. He is also the host of the investigative program Imbestigador.
Respected broadcaster Mel Tiangco is recognized as the top female newscaster of GMA-7. She co-anhors 24 Oras with Mike Enriquez, and she co-hosts the magazine program Mel & Joey with Joey de Leon. She used to host the weekly drama anthology Magpakailanman.
Arnold Clavio began his career in GMA-7 as news writer in dzBB. He then became a reporter in Brigada Siete, which was hosted by the late Louie Beltran. He is now the male anchor of Saksi. His other TV credits include Emergency, Unang Hirit, and Case Unclosed.
Vicky Morales is one of the most-awarded broadcasters of GMA-7. She co-anchors the late-night newscast Saksi with Arnold Clavio, and she also hosts the inspirational reality show Wish Ko Lang.
Survivor Philippines castaway Kiko Rustia made use of his love for the environment by hosting Born To Be Wild with Dr. Ferdz Recio, where they explore wild animals and places.
Love Añover started her career as a reporter in Probe, where she usually tackled the lighter side of life and issues. She is the resident traffic girl in Unang Hirit, where she utters this famous line: "Smile naman diyan and everything!" She was given her own show by GMA-7, Lovely Day, which is now replaced by Happy Land.
Suzi Entrata started as co-host of the sports show Game Plan, with Paolo Abrera, who later became her husband. She is one of the hosts of the long-running morning program Unang Hirit, and she also hosts the lifestyle program Mommy Diary.
Rhea Santos is also one of the hosts of Unang Hirit, and she co-anhors the Q 11's primetime newscast News On Q. Her previous programs include Pinoy Abroad and At Your Service.
Connie Sison used to be part of ABS-CBN's News and Current Affairs, but she has found a new home in GMA-7 News and Public Affairs where she does news and feature stories.
Kara David is one the youngest journalists of GMA-7. The daughter of columnist and professor Randy David, Kara is best known for her heart-wrenching and inspirational documentaries in I-Witness.
