The idea of performing for a charitable cause appealed to Dave Elkins, vocalist of American rock band M.A.E. (Multi-sensory Aesthetic Experience), so he agreed to rock for relief.
His first song was "Embers and Envelopes."

Here's the group's guitarist, Zach Gehring.

Balladeer Jed Madela admitted that his powerful pieces felt out of place. But he said he didn't mind joining rock bands for the typhoon victims.

Neal Schon, the man who discovered Arnel in YouTube, left the concert spectators gaping in awe. He's a "guitar god."

The mood turned "naughty and nice" when Katy entered the stage.
Heart-shaped lights, pink flamingos, and her signature fruit-shaped accents added colorful zing to the concert.

Most of the pieces in her repertoire had the audience singing along with her. She rendered "Hot N Cold," "Waking Up In Vegas," "Ur So Gay," "Mannequin," and "One of The Boys."
Her songs are downright honest, playful, and empowering.

"Manila, make some noise..." And Pinoys gave her a roar!
The 25-year-old American songwriter-singer used most of the tracks in her One of the Boys album, which inluded "Use Your Love," "Self-Inflicted," and "If You Can Afford Me."

Katy did only a few brief spiels in between her songs, but she definitely left a mark on Pinoys. One of her quotable lines, "You've been through a lot, but we're still standing. Damn it!"

Before shifting from fast to slow, she warned the crowd that she was gonna pour out her heartbreak.
Katy dropped her naughty mode and turned melancholy with "Thinking Of You" and "I'm still Breathing."

Campus students and yuppies make up most of her captive market. That night, about 18,000 of them showed up.

For her encore, she did "Don't Stop Me Now" of Queen, one of her
musical influences, and her first hit single, "I Kissed A Girl."

She's been "on the road for two years." Manila was her "last stop," and she's glad that she "saved the best for last."
Thank you, Katy. You rock!
