A kikay talk with Jennica Garcia...

-
Jennica says that before she entered show business, her dad Jigo gave her very useful words of caution. "Sabi niya, ‘Sa showbiz, madali ang pera. Kung gaano mo sila kabilis nakuha, ganoon kabilis din sila mawawala sa 'yo.' Kaya ako, as early as now, I make sure nakakapag-ipon ako. Like now, nakabili na ako ng sarili kong kotse, mayroon na 'kong van. Masayang investment, kasi kung hindi na ako artista, marami akong puwedeng gawin diyan. Puwede kong pagkakuhaan ng pera 'yan."

About this look and the one before this, make-up artist Jigs Mayuga says: "I added more color high on the cheek bones and made the lips more nude. More blush almost sa temple area, to give it more definition, to make it more funky."
Jigs used (1) Made For Me Naturals in tea rose for the lips and (2) L'Oreal's Blush Delice in rosy cheeks.

"Pag tapings, I put on my own make-up," says Jennica. "Mahilig ako, e. Gusto kong mag-aral mag-make-up, kaso hindi pa ako makakuha ng oras. Pero given the chance na makapag-aral ako, 'yong mga workshops lang, go ako."

Jennica's interest in make-up is evident as she pays attention to the techniques used by make-up maven Jigs Mayuga.
For our Japanese pop or J-pop-inspired photo shoot, Jigs uses (Left) L'Oreal's True Match liquid foundation in golden beige as a base and (Right) Super Liner in black for the eyes.
"I used the liquid liner, and I applied it in winged manner para lang to give her more oriental eyes," Jigs explains.
For girls with Jennica's skin tone who want to go with bold red lips, Jigs suggests: "They should veer away from orange reds. It should be deeper reds, like almost burgundy reds, because these work best with their skin tone."

Jennica admits that aside from the facial treatments from her sponsor, Bioessence, she doesn't have any strict beauty regimen. "Tamad kasi ako, e," she says with a giggle. "Pero ang usually kong ginagawa, I go to the salon for regular hair treatments. I'm very maalaga when it comes to my hair-hair spa, Kerastase, mga ganoon."
