PART 2: Stars on Red Carpet at the 10th anniversary party of YES! Magazine
No doubt, the most star-studded event of the year, so far—YES! Magazine's 10th anniversary—succeeded in bringing together talents from both ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and TV5, as well as the most respected people in the industry. It's the party to beat!

The YES! party became a venue for reunions and reconciliation.
The most anticipated moment was the arrival of the famous Gutierrez siblings (from left) Raymond, Ruffa, and Richard, obviously because just 10 months back, Richard sued PEP editors Jo-Ann Maglipon and Karen Pagsolingan and staffwriter Ferdinand Godinez for P25 million on the issue of libel.
Ynna Asistio (left) and Michelle Madrigal are also under the care of Annabelle Rama.
Ynna, the daughter of Nadia Montenegro currently topbills SRO Cinemaserye's Meet the Fathers, while Michelle, younger sister of Ehra Madrigal, is part of First Time.
Carla Humphries also moved from Star Magic to Royal Era last year. She gamely sang during the open microphone part of the evening, when hosts Tirso Cruz and Ricky Davao invited stars to sing along with a baby grand and a pianist brought in especially for the evening.
Lorna Tolentino's date that night was her son Ralph Fernandez.
Fans first read the most comprehensive story of Rudy Fernandez's battle with cancer in YES! magazine, which also featured the couple's home and wedding, and finally the death of Daboy. (CLICK HERE to view gallery)
Lovely and sexy KC Concepcion arrived without mom Sharon Cuneta, who was in the United States treating KC's Lola Elaine to a vacation at the time of the YES! party.
It wasn't just her solo presence that caught people's attention, but also her Jun Escario dress.
Actress-politician Lani Mercado (left) took some time off from her campaign chores in Cavite to personally congratulate the most widely-circulated magazine in the country.
Mommy Carol Santos attended the party to represent her daughter Judy Ann Santos, who graced the maiden issue of YES! Magazine ten years ago. Judy Ann was taping that night.
Roderick Paulate (left) and Gina Alajar's friendship is older than YES! by more than three decades.
In 1967, they both auditioned for Lea Productions' Kaibigan Ko'ng Sto.Nino, and bested some 300 aspirants. Gina bagged the role of Oreng, while Roderick became Bong.
Their most recent project was the Philippine entry to the Oscars, Ded Na Si Lolo. Unfortunately, the film was not shortlisted for the Best Foreign Film category.
Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 housemate Kian Kazemi (left), whose condo unit was featured in one of the editions of YES! Celebrity Homes, arrived with a non-showbiz date.(CLICK HERE to view gallery)
SOP singers (from left) Jay-R, Kyla, Ogie Alcasid, and Mig Escueta were in a celebratory mood.
Later that evening, composer-singer Ogie, who had rushed in from a taping, confirmed that their variety show will air its final episode on February 28. (CLICK HERE to read related article)
A lot of single ladies in the house, like Pops Fernandez, were spotted at the party. Pops has become a good friend of the YES! editors through many years of coverage.
Her tell-all interview in the October 2007 issue of YES!, about her failed marriage to singer Martin Nievera, was deemed one of the most controversial revelations ever read in YES!
The very fit Iza Calzado chose not to bring her non-showbiz boyfriend. She said there would be too many reporters. The YES! editors said they understood perfectly.
Jake Cuenca brought the hunk factor to the YES! anniversary party. Jake is managed by Neil de Guia, who is a protegé of the late talent manager Douglas Quijano.
"Kagalang-galang ako tonight, ang dami kasing kagalang-galang dito, e," Ai-Ai delas Alas quipped about her outfit.
Ai-Ai found out about the party only the day before, when she and YES! editor Jo-Ann Maglipon bumped into each other at the yoghurt shop at the EDSA Shangri-La Mall.
Ai-Ai hugged Mother Lily Monteverde, who was responsible for giving the Comedy Queen a break when the latter was just starting out in showbiz. Remember her bit roles in Shake, Rattle & Roll III and Shake, Rattle & Roll 4? Wonder if Mother knew that the Ai-Ai she was giving a break to would become box-office queen a couple of times in the last decade!
StarStruck V Final Five (standing, from left) Enzo Pineda, Sarah Lahbati, Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba, and Rocco Nacino graced their first major showbiz party.
A stunning Gretchen Barretto showed up past 11 p.m. She came from the premiere of Miss You Like Crazy, the latest Star Cinema offering starring John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo.
The singer is excited to go back to acting via a TV series with Bea Alonzo. Gretchen could not stay long at the party because she had a call time at 7:00 a.m. the next day for an acting workshop to prepare her for the TV series.
Before 12 midnight, a gorgeous Angel Locsin in a short black dress arrived, then left 20 minutes later. She told YES!, "Hindi talaga ako lumalabas. Nagpakita lang talaga ako para sa inyo."
YES! was able to document the lovelife of the Kapamilya actress who is presently single.
The last to arrive was John Lloyd Cruz, who looked dashing even past 1:00 a.m.
An onlooker exclaimed, "Baka ayaw niyang magpang-abot sila ni..." But in fairness to John Lloyd, the guy did a short, quick escape from his own post-premiere party to drop by the YES! party. He had promised his friend Anna Pingol he would, and he did.
Anna, whose birthday was the 24th, said it was her best birthday gift. She also said, "Ngayon napatunayan ko na, na kapag nangako si John Lloyd, tinutupad niya. He keeps his word."
Beside her, the handsome and charming box-office king stood smiling. When he relaxed some more, he was a very interesting conversationalist, but we all assume that what he had to say, even if they were not controversial, were off the record. So we can't say—until he says we can.
