They are: (standing from left) Jhake Vargas, Bea Binene, Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Louise delos Reyes, Derrick Monasterio, (seated from left) Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Fernandez, Krystal Reyes, and Kierulf Raboy.
Tween Queen Barbie Forteza has come a long way since starring in a milk brand commercial as the girl who got soaked and made friends under the rain. Her short but memorable stint in the TVC caught the attention of film producers, who eventually, chose her to play the lead in the indie film Puntod. Her portrayal as a deaf-mute earned Barbie her first acting award from the PMPC as Best New Female Star of the Year. Among her notable projects in GMA-7 are Stairway to Heaven, First Time, and Pilyang Kerubin, Barbie's biggest break to date. Barbie will soon star in another episode for Dear Friend together with Joshua Dionisio and Jhake Vargas.
Award-winning young actor Joshua Dionisio first captured the hearts of Kapuso viewers with his portrayal as the young Cholo in the Pinoy adaptation of the Koreanovela Stairway to Heaven opposite Barbie Forteza. He went on to star in an episode for Dear Friend, My Christmas List with Barbie and Jhake Vargas before finally landing a role as Lukas Ynfante in First Time. His love team with Barbie became such a huge hit that GMA-7 decided to cast them again in another primetime soap, the recently-concluded Pilyang Kerubin. Joshua is currently busy with acting workshops in preparation for his upcoming projects in the Kapuso Network.
Jhake Vargas first gained popularity when he played the role of the young Tristan in Stairway to Heaven. Before that, the 18-year-old singer-actor had already appeared in the Kapuso shows Walang Tulugan with The Master Showman, Joaquin Bordado, Gagambino, and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? He was later cast as Baste Luna in First Time, a role that eventually earned Jhake his heartthrob stature. He was also featured in Patient X and Litsonero last 2009, and is now part of Party Pilipinas and Ilumina.
Bea Binene first tested showbiz waters when she joined StarStruck Kids in 2004 where she ended up as a finalist. She joined Bahay Mo Ba 'To, which ran from 2004 to 2007, and Sinenovela Presents Kaputol ng Isang Awit in 2008. A certified homegrown Kapuso, Bea also dabbled in hosting via Lovely Day before starring in an episode for Dear Friend with Barbie, Joshua and Jhake. She later assumed the role of the mean "Queen Bee" Natalie Dimaculangan in First Time and is currently seen in Ilumina and Party Pilipinas. A junior ambassador of the Haribon Foundation, Bea recently added another feather to her cap after winning a bronze medal in the 2010 National Wushu Competition.
She earned her screen name from her portrayal as the young Krystal in the primetime drama Bakekang. Krystal Reyes landed her first starring role as Princess in Princess Charming in 2007. Her biggest break came after this when she played the lead role in the TV remake of the 1978 Julie Vega movie Ang Mga Mata ni Anghelita. She also appeared in La Vendetta, Sinenovela Presents: My Only Love, Lalola, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, and Rosalinda. She recently won as Best Children's Show Host together with Pia Archangel and Tonipet Gaba for Art Angel and will be part of the new primetime drama Bantatay.
One may easily recognize 17-year-old Louise delos Reyes who has appeared in more than a dozen TV, print and outdoor ads for major brands such as Del Monte, Coke, Sun Cellular, and Block and White. She has also several beauty titles to her name, including Ms. Lyceum of the Phils. University-Cavite 2010, Ms. Teen Philippines International-Luzon 2007, Ms. Jag Teen 2007 and Ms. Teen Super Ferry 2007. A second year Foreign Service student, Louise played one of two lead roles in the movie Agaton and Mindy, which earned her a Best New Movie Actress nomination from the PMPC, and recently became a guest in the GMA-7 drama Pilyang Kerubin.
Thirteen-year-old Kierulf Raboy joined local amateur singing contests in his hometown in Sultan Kudarat before winning the grand prize in the second season of Q Channel 11's singing search, Pop Star Kids. He also won as Best Child Actor in the 2008 Indie Sine and made guest appearances in Walang Tulugan with The Master Showman, Trudis Liit, and Life and Style with Ricky Reyes. Aside from honing his singing skills, Kierulf would also like to try acting and dancing.
Following the footsteps of her mother Maritoni Fernandez, Lexi Fernandez is doing mostly villainous roles on TV. She is presently part of the cast of Ilumina where she plays the role of Stephanie, a spoiled rich girl who likes Jhake Vargas's character in the show. Lexi, who lists down singing, dancing and acting as her talents, also appeared in Langit sa Piling Mo together with her mom, who is a mainstay of the program.
Olongapo boy Kristoffer Martin has appeared as the young Johnny in the GMA adaptation of the Koreanovela hit drama Endless Love, where he was paired with Kathryn Bernardo. He enjoys singing, dancing, and acting.
Fifteen-year-old Derrick Monasterio completes the list of the Kapuso Tween Stars. A high school student at Claret, Quezon City, Derrick is well on his way to becoming a future heartthrob with his boy-next-door looks and towering height of 5 feet, 10 inches. He wants to excel in both singing and acting.
