President Noynoy Aquino was personally welcomed by ABS-CBN's chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez.

Later that evening, PNoy thanked the Lopezes for their "invaluable contributions to our nation."

A portion of his speech recounted Kapitan's (another nickname of Gabby's father) sacrifices for the network during the Marcos dictatorship. 

PNoy said: "Let us never forget that Manong Geny Lopez was jailed by the dictatorship for choosing to be steadfast in providing the services needed by a silenced people.

"This legacy is very much alive. Your continuing commitment to bring new technology and to constantly raise standards not only reflects your love for country but also your determination to push this country forward."

Mayor Bautista and Vice Mayor Belmonte  were asked to pose with the UST Singers, who recently won the Choir of the World—The Luciano Pavarotti Trophy at the 63rd Llangollen International Music Festival in Wales, U.K.

Observing that the Vice Mayor's dress blended perfectly with the singers' costumes, Bistek (the Mayor's nickname) stood in front of the group like a conductor and told them to get ready for the camera.

Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares, the newly-appointed MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) chief, made time for the affair, which had a Filipiniana and barong dress code.

Despite looking elegant, she admitted to feeling awkward in a formal dress: "Minsan-minsang lang akong magbihis nang ganito."

She was still wearing the dress when she greeted Armida Siguion-Reyna—possibly the best Chair the MTRCB ever had—during Arminda's 80th birthday celebration that night at the Manila Polo Club.

Ricky Carandang and ABS-CBN news anchor Pinky Webb hosted the dedication program.

Ricky was a former anchor and correspondent for ANC (ABS-CBN News Channel) before joining the President's communications group in July 2010.

PNoy's "very quiet sister" Kris Aquino (middle) graced the ceremony, of course. She is flanked by Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and Channel 2's TV head Cory Vidanes.

Magkaribal stars Gretchen Barretto (middle) and Angel Aquino (right) were ushered to the main venue a few minutes after the program began.

All seats were already occupied by the VIPs, so the stars just stood beside the screen.

Gretchen was wearing this outfit when she joined partner Tonyboy Cojuangco at Armida Siguion-Reyna's birthday dinner that same night.

Kapamilya big boss Gabby Lopez explained why they decided to dedicate the ELJCC building a long 10 years after it was built.

This was actually the "third attempt" to do so, he said. The first was in 2000 during typhoon Reming. The second was in January 2001 during the People Power 2 revolution that overthrew then President Joseph Estrada.

ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio and ABS-CBN Foundation's managing director Regina "Gina" Lopez took charge of the ceremonial lighting for all three buildings in the compound, which jumpstarted the Kapamilya Christmas campaign.

Manolo Lopez, the youngest brother of the late Geny Lopez, introduced the guest of honor, President Noynoy Aquino.

He is presently chairman and CEO of Benpres Holdings Corporation, which is now called the Lopez Holdings Corporation.

PNOY's speech underlined the crucial role of ABS-CBN in the country's development.

"ABS-CBN truly carries an enormous capacity to influence viewers; more so, since communication has a great responsibility in our nation's sustainable development.

"With the perceived credibility of media as a source of information, it has a crucial role in raising public awareness and molding public opinion, especially on issues of development and more importantly accountability," the President said.

The Kapamilya network's gift to President Noynoy Aquino (2nd from right) is a personalized parol, which symbolizes Christmas and the Filipinos' commitment to change their life, family, and nation for the better.

After the blessing and dedication, an intimate party was attended by the guest of honor, ABS-CBN top executives, advertisers, and these beautiful Kapamilya stars dressed to the nines.

Singer-song writer Gary Granada sang one of his compositions, "Mabuti Pa Sila."
