The Rectos in Rome

Even a film goddess such as Mayor Vi, given the chance to be in a historic place such as the Vatican City, becomes an ordinary mortal who wants a souvenir photo to remember a happy occasion by. Here, she poses in front of St. Peter's Basilica where the Pope celebrates his special Holy Masses and where he mostly holds his public appearances.

It wasn't Lipa Mayor Vilma Santos-Recto's first time to visit Rome. But her March 2006 Roman holiday was extra-special for two reasons. First, she was there as a special dignitary guest of then Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales, who was to be ordained cardinal. And second, she was there not just with her husband, Senator Ralph Recto, but also with their son, Ryan Christian, and Vilma's siblings, Emilyn and Sonny Boy.

Indeed, nothing could be better than touring a city with your loved ones. Bet they had more fun than Audrey Hepburn when she had her Roman Holiday in 1953.
