Art Mendoza is a bar owner, which was one of the reasons he gained too much weight. He said, "Since I am in the nightlife business, I often eat
whatever is fast and easy. Oftentimes I
eat fast because I'm always on the go. I
also lack sleep so I eat then sleep right away."

Eboy Bautista is the heaviest among the male contestants. His father's death due to cancer made him realize that he should start living a healthy lifestyle.

Edden Cruz is a fish vendor in Cebu. She joined the contest because she wants to live longer for her kids since she's a single parent.

Eric Limatog is another emotional eater. Also, his
family business revolves around making siomai and siopao, and so there is easy
access to food.
"Ang siopao ang nagpabuhay sa amin. Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit ako lumaki," he related.

Winwin Cabinta is often mistaken for a tomboy. She actually shaved her hair for people to notice it instead of her weight.
The 18-year-old from Bukidnon joined the contest because she wants to be
a real lady, finally. She has never worn a gown or dress because of her obesity.
