JANUARY: ADMISSIONS.

The year opened with several stars admitting to one thing or other.

There's Baron Geisler, who initially denied harassing the seriously talented Cherry Pie Picache on the set of Noah.

In a PEP article dated January 20, the controversial actor said: "Bilang aktor, in character ako. Nanay ang turing ko kay Cherry Pie. Imposibleng gawin ko yun sa kanya. I'm very disappointed."

But following the intervention of PAMI (Professional Artists Managers Inc.), Baron eventually admitted to grabbing the actress "in any way na she felt violated or offended," and apologized.

He also decided to undergo a 90-day rehabilitation program for his drinking problem.

Another controversial admission came from Ruffa Gutierrez, who got a 2 a.m. phone call from Shaina Magdayao, then the girlfriend of the beauty queen's ex-boyfriend, John Lloyd Cruz.

What ensued was a meeting among the Paparazzi host, the two Kapamilya talents, and Star Magic. This time, however, Ruffa said she was choosing to "take the high road and not talk about it."

But she did.

Then, there are the "nakakakilig" admissions.

The sampler was courtesy of Zanjoe Marudo, who announced last January 12 on TV Patrol that he was courting Bea Alonzo.

An even juicier scoop was revealed on The Buzz last January 30.

Piolo Pascual finally lay down the truth between him and KC Concepcion: "And I don't want to watch any other interview na nagsasabing may gusto sa kanya or gusto siyang i-date. I just want it out, and I just want them to know that she's taken."

LOVE & HATE IN FEBRUARY. Some stars did not get to enjoy this month, and it wasn't because they were loveless.

Sharon Cuneta, for instance, is married to Senator Kiko Pangilinan, they have two kids, and they live under one roof. All is apparently well.

But managing to ruin her mood was this tweet from Hayden Kho: "There's a billboard ad in Edsa developed by advertisers who think consumers are stupid. Guess."

He denied that he was referring to the Megastar's ad with Marie France showing a slimmer Sharon.

Sharon's retort: "It's so convenient na huwag mong sabihin kung sino para ma-deny mo later. But kung sinabi nga sa 'yo na may ganoon, parang mapapaisip ka rin, mukhang ako nga yun."

The remark elicited an exchange of statements in the press that lasted two weeks.

Well, Kris Aquino (right) and Ruffa Gutierrez (left) finally made peace almost a year after their rift began.

"All's well that ends well," said Kris during the celebration of the anniversay of the EDSA People Power revolution, which Kris hosted with her former The Buzz co-host.

It wasn't at all "all's well that ends well" with Sarah Geronimo.

In a tell-all interview with YES! Magazine, the Pop Star Princess admitted her 15-month relationship with Rayver Cruz.

She talked about how their romance grew via text messaging and Skype (a free Internet call and chatting service), and recounted how she was betrayed and hurt by her "first true love."

Meanwhile, romance began to bloom on Twitter.

Angel Locsin got an unexpected dinner invite from football star Phil Younghusband.

The date didn't materialize right away, but the whole thing had the fans' approving.

And just before the month ended, a grand celebrity wedding took place, but Willie Revillame, who was supposed to be the Best Man, snubbed it.

John Estrada, the groom, said his former best friend "missed a beautiful wedding."

The two men had a falling out after John received and accepted the offer of ABS-CBN to host Happy Yipee Yehey!, which now owns the noontime slot formerly belonging to Willie and Wowowee.

MARCH MY WORD. Summer arrived with a war of words.

Giselle Sanchez said a source had told her about the love triangle of Angelica Jones, Illac Diaz, and Julia Clarete, who was "seen storming out of the San Pablo parish while the churchgoers were coming out from Mass."

Illac refuted this, saying: "It's a lie! It's a lie!"

Angelica claimed that she and Illac were "exclusively dating" before this.

Again, Illac refuted this, saying: "No exclusive dating, no relationship!"

One big PEP scoop was the breakup of Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo.

It was caused by a fight that "started as small and mababaw...but it apparently brought out the worst in both stars, who ended up hurling hurtful words at each other before angrily stomping out of each other's lives."

The month's biggest story was about a kid who performed some "macho dancing" in an episode of Willing Willie, which was then accused of "child abuse."

The Commission on Human Rights chair condemned the March 12 episode, and so did the Department of Social Welfare secretary.

Some advertisers pulled out their support. And the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) imposed a "one-month suspension" on the show, which returned to the Boob Tube as Wil Time Bigtime.

ANXIETY-FILLED APRIL. In summary, a wedding and a funeral became the most talked-about topics on this month.

On April 29, Prince William exchanged I Do's with Kate Middleton, with 26.2 million viewers watching, according to the Daily Mail.

The number is presently the 10th biggest audience in televsion history, but it failed to surpass the 28.4 million viewership recorded for Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana's wedding.

One of this year's biggest news was the sudden death of young star AJ Perez, a victim of an accident which left him with irreparable "multiple head injuries."

Another remarkable story was how former beauty queen Pilar Pilapil survived her brush with death. She was stabbed by two suspected carjackers and left for dead. Good Samaritans helped her survive the ordeal.

COUPLES RULE MAY. Is it breakup month for showbiz couples?

The first pair is complicated: the announcement of their split came before the confirmation of their relationship.

On May 3, Mo Twister tweeted (published as is): "Exactly 1yr of being together, we have broken up. Thank you for loving me. It had amazing moments and I'm sorry.."

Next was a Twitter spat between Andi Eigenmann and then boyfriend Albie Casiño, after Andi's friend Saab Magalona tweeted that "a young actor" had slapped her "friend."  

The friend was supposed to be Andi, and the young actor was supposed to be Albie Casino, whose response to the queries of fans was: "So much bullshit. I never hit her. Maybe one of her many boys did. Andi's a cheater kasi she has maybe 10 guys. Ao yeah nope not me."

In response, Andi posted a total of 19 tweets, two of which read:

"The issue is not what he's done but how he's trying to ruin my life and let him be wo defending myself. All I ver did for 2yrs was sty by hm.

"Make sure he's happy and he doesn't get hurt. Cus I care. A lot. And why do I get this inn return? No one knows."

Then there is Iwa Moto (right) who admitted to splitting with her non-showbiz boyfriend Mickey Ablan after having a very public fight with him.

The guy was seen grabbing the girl's cell phone. In turn, the girl smashed the guy's car mirror, which was parked in the GMA-7 complex. After the rather violent scene, the Starstruck alumna disclosed: "December pa lang, break na kami!"

Zsa Zsa Padilla's marriage to Karylle's dad, Modesto Tatlonghari, was finally annulled after 22 years. The singer-actress received the decree of nullity last May 19.
