It took a year and seven months for Mother Lily Monteverde and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos to agree on a common schedule. When they finally did, the actress-politician did the honors of inaugurating the Regal matriarch's Taal Imperial Hotel and Resort in Barangay Tulo, Taal, Batangas.
On the eve of the February-6th inauguration cum blessing, Mother Lily was already at the resort to welcome guests and members of the entertainment press.
Immediately before lunch of the scheduled inauguration day, Governor of Batangas Vilma Santos-Recto arrived for the blessing officiated by Monsigñor Fred Madlangbayan.

A new collaboration between Elwood and Mother Lily may be in the offing, some members of the press speculated. Just recently, Mother hosted a birthday dinner for Elwood at her Imperial Suites building on Timog.

We learned during the welcome party that Mother Lily would have a month-long European trip in March. Maybe, after daily trips to and from Batangas and Manila to personally supervise the building of the resort, she is ready to give herself a vacation.

TV Patrol's Mario Dumaual and TAPE Inc.'s Malou Choa-Fagar sang to their heart's content until the wee hours of the morning. The lady executive dished out mostly OPM hits, like Vic Sotto's composition for ex-wife Dina Bonnevie, "Bakit Ba Ganyan." Mario, who has a good voice, sang the night away with pop hits, too.
