A huge white veil covered the center of the stage at the beginning of the concert.

Flocks of yuppies, mostly in their early 20s to late 30s, also teenagers, gathered excitedly at the new concert venue in Pasay.

At about 10 minutes past nine in the evening, the lights dimmed and, slowly, nine men were revealed.

Like idols they were worshipped, the audience filling in the hollow spaces of the colossal hall with shrieks and hoots.

Behold the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys!

The five-man band, New Kids on the Block, are originally from Massachusetts, USA, and became popular in the late 1980s to the early '90s. Known for their hit singles "Be My Girl," "Stop It Girl," "Step by Step," "Tonight," "Covergirl," also "Please Don't Go Girl," the group are the winners of the 90's American Awards' Favorite Pop/Rock Band and Favorite Pop/Rock Album.

The children of the ‘90s went insane when the intro to the Backstreet Boys's "The Call," a song from their 2000 album, Black and Blue, began playing.

The multi-awarded boyband catapulted to fame during the late 1990s to the early 2000s with their songs "Get Down," "Quit Playing Games," "As Long as You Love Me," "All I Have to Give," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," etc.

The group was missing Kevin who used to be part of the five-guy band.

The two boybands alternately performed on stage, one hit single after another.

Later during the concert, the band took the crowd back to the late ‘80s with "Step by Step" and "Covergirl," which had Donnie shouting, "Mahal na mahal kita, Manila!"

In their crisp, classic white suits, the Backstreet Boys made the ladies fall in love with them all over again with "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" and "10,000 Promises."

While singing "I'll Never Break Your Heart," Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick selected one girl each from the screaming crowd.

The group also sang Pinoy favorites "Shape of My Heart" and "As Long as You Love Me" to the nostalgic delight of the fans.

As the two-hour concert reached its last leg of performances, the two groups performed their songs together—the New Kids on the Block singing the Backstreets Boys' songs and vice versa.

They also performed "Don't Turn Off the Lights," an original single by both the bands.

"Thank you, Manila. You've been loving BSB for 19 years and NKOTB for 25 years now," said Brian who was moved when the audience went crazy over "I Want It That Way."

In a resounding final number, NKOTBSB ended their epic concert with Queen's "We Will Rock You" as the crowd shouted "N-K-O-T-B-S-B!" over and over.

The NKOTBSB World Tour officially ended their series of concerts on June 3 in Manila.
