Marco Alcaraz and Lara Quigaman started "bonding" sometime in June 2009.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the cager turned actor then related how he met the beauty queen, "Naging close kami dahil kay Valerie [Concepcion]. Matagal na kaming magkaibigan ni Valerie at naging close sila noong si Lara ay part pa ng Wowowee, at dahil doon, nagkakilala rin kami ni Lara..." 

Fast forward to 7-8-12, the "bonding" led to a wedding, which was planned (down to the smallest detail, such as signage) by the couple.

This served as the photo wall, which displayed framed photos of Lara and Marco.

Maja Salvador was one of the bridesmaids.

She and the bride became friends two years ago while doing Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor.

He marched with bridesmaids 2005 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Gionna Cabrera and 2002 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Karen Loren Ostrea.

The former was Lara's batchmate in the pageant, where the bride won Bb. Pilipinas-International.

Carlene Aguilar, who arrived with husband Yo Ocampo, became friends with the bride when they both joined Bb. Pilipinas in 2005.

The former bagged the Bb. Pilipinas-World title.

Clad in a Randy Ortiz suit, Marco looked very relaxed while walking down the aisle.

But when it was time to recite his vow, the groom turned serious. 

"I want to walk through my years right beside you, Precious Lara, as your best friend, your soul mate, your lover... I will be your true partner in every adventure... wherever, whenever, forever..."

The minute she said "yes" to Marco's proposal, the 2005 Miss International knew that he's the one.

In a previous interview, Lara exclaimed, "Sigurado talaga ako sa kanya."

"To my heart’s desire, Jiampong, I prayed and prayed and asked God, to give me the perfect husband and I prayed for Piolo Pascual but instead He gave me you.

"But it does prove that God really knows and what’s best for us. Because this is more than what we asked for or can we ever imagine."

Honeymoon will be in Maldives— a gift from "Ninong Noel."

They also made another announcement: Lara is five months pregnant.
