Last June 28, Annabelle sued entertainment writer Chito Alcid for libel. She had been displeased by his saying that Annabelle's daughter Ruffa, in her twitter account, had disrespected Amalia Fuentes.

When Annabelle saw Alcid at the Heritage Park on the night of the 13th, the talent manager tweeted in her own account: "Nasira ang gabi ko."

The incident took place in the dining area next door to the chapel where Dolphy's casket lay.

While the confrontation of Annabelle and Chito was going on, former co-stars from Sampaguita Pictures and RPN 9, including the cast of John en Marsha, were delivering a tribute to Dolphy.

In her Twitter account, Annabelle Rama noted that Chito Alcid fell during their confrontation. "Hndi ka man lang kinampihan habang natumba ka sa sahig. natumba pala ung kalaban. haha," she tweeted.

Chito would later tell the press that he did fall, and that this embarrassed him in front of so many stars. He said he was getting Atty. Lorna Kapunan, who was present when the incident happened, as one of his witnesses in a court case he would file against Annabelle.

Chavit Singson was one of those at the table occupied by Chito Alcid.

The latter would tell the media that it was Singson who put a stop to the fight between him and Annabelle.

Also at the same table was Amalia Fuentes, a former close friend of Annabelle and now a sworn enemy, with the two women filing charges against each other in court.
