Ama Quiambao won Best Actress for her performance in Diablo, in the New Breed category.

In an interview, Ama Quiambao told PEP.ph that the night's Best Actress award was her first acting award in her very long career as an actress. She was first seen in Ishmael Bernal's Himala. She also said she's happy that she's still recognized for her work.

Eddie Garcia won the Best Actor award for playing a grumpy gay man in Bwakaw, which competed in the Director's Showcase category.

When Eddie received his trophy for Best Actor, he went into character, speaking as a gay man. The audience was amused.

Anita Linda won Best Supporting Actress for her performance as a senile old woman in Sta. Nina, which competed in the New Breed category.

The veteran award-winning actress said she was happy to be "wanted and cared for" by indie directors at her ripe old age of 88.

Joross Gamboa won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Intoy Syokoy ng Kalye Marino, which competed in the New Breed category.

Art Acuña won Best Supporting Actor for playing a corrupt cop in Posas, which competed in the Director's Showcase category.

This is the second time that Art has bagged the Best Supporting Actor plum. In last year's Cinemalaya, he also won the same award, but for the film Niño.

Sheron Dayoc won Best Director for his film, As He Sleeps, which competed in the Short Feature category. In Cinemalaya 2010, Dayoc was named Best Director in the New Breed category for his film Halaw.

Director Loy Arcenas won Special Jury Prize for his film REquieme! This black comedy also won Best Screenplay for Rody Vera in the New Breed category.

Director Marie Jamora (right) was elated when her film, Ang Nawawala, received the Audience Choice award in the New Breed category. The film also won Best Original Music Score for Mikey Amistoso, Diego Mapa and Jazz Nicolas.
