That day, the famous mom-daughter tandem invited three stars— (L-R) Phoemela Baranda, Jennylyn Mercado, and Grace Lee— to discuss skin problems, liposuction, breast augmentation, and how each one of them addressed their respective beauty issues.

When Jennylyn Mercado joined showbiz via the reality show StarStruck in 2003, she didn't stand out right away.

One reason: she was overshadowed by her mestiza batchmates.

Fast forward to 2012, she's one of the busiest stars on TV.

And despite the fact that she loves outdoor activities, she has a found a way to make her skin color glowing and even.

To avoid having pimples, Grace Lee eats "a lot of raw veggies" and has regular facial cleaning and body scrub.

To get rid of her big arms, she finally decided to try SmartLipo.

"Puwedeng-puwede na akong mag-sleeveless," she said, showing her now-toned arms (inset).

"My issue before was I look flat. Now, I look flattering," Phoemela Baranda quipped.

And though Pinays are usually uncomfortable talking about their breast implants, the model-host said, "To some, it is taboo, but if it makes your happy, why should you hide it? And so far, wala pa akong naririnig na parang negative... It's really with the way you carry yourself, and siyempre, how it looks."

Coco Martin missed the event. But he represented the men's common problem: Oily and rough skin.

It was Dra. Vicki Belo who discussed the actor's regimen— facial and PowerPeel.

The latter, she claimed, is better than Diamond Peel, which uses a "scalpel with diamond to remove the dead skin."

She added, "It's a 35-thousand-peso machine, and shave... it's exactly what it does. Then some clinics just put alcohol and sterilize it. But that's not the way to remove the bacteria..."

The PowerPeel has "crystals, and everybody gets new crystals" that— according to her— effectively removes the dirt, dead skin, and oil.

"You know, I've been in practice for 22 years. I wanted to retire this year. That was my plan when I was 40... I didn't want to be an old, ugly derma..."

But Dra. Vicki Belo can't leave her multi-billion-dollar empire yet... not when it's growing and expanding.

But she went to Spain right after, and "ate a lot of churros," so she gained weight again.
