“These are brands used by the top make-up artists on the runways,” says Agoo Bengzon. Make-up artist Gyno Ferrer estimates that the Greta collection may cost more than half a million pesos.

Though Gretchen doesn’t have actual make-up favorites, these are what she has been using recently, according to Gyno Ferrer, who is Patrick Rosas’s assistant make-up artist. SK-II is currently popular in Hong Kong and Singapore, but it’s not available in the Philippines. “Sa mga fashion shows,” a marie claire editor points out, “they use SK-II masks right before walking on the catwalk, para instant glow.”

Gretchen owns brushes from Nars, Bobbi Brown, and Shu Uemura. Brushes should be stored lying down, just as Gretchen does here. “If it’s upright, parang the glue tends to gather at the base,” Agoo explains. “That makes your brushes more prone to shedding.”
